2026 Recruiting: Caden Pierce (Transfer) potential interest

Because you inferred from my post that i “don’t think he’s good enough to start in college…” I didn’t say that. He’d start on almost every D1 team next year. He’d start on most this year. But I’m looking at UConn’s roster next year with an eye towards winning another chip. As I explained several posts later, after our noncon I was 100% sold on him starting as a soph on a chip team but maybe I’m down to 99% currently. Theres a big difference between that and you saying I don’t think he’s good enough to start in college. Regardless, my intent was to make a comparison for the sake of posters who think Stew is locked in as a starter.
twist away with what you meant to say v what you did say...lol I'm just quoting what you said, You were talking about Uconn guys playing for Uconn...so not sure why you inferred that I was talking about other schools. Uconn is a college..

Didn't mean for you to get you panties in a bunch..I was just highlighting that some mocks had him in first round..thinking maybe you didn't see that info. All good

The only thing that sells me on Pierce is the schools that are fighting for him, there must be a reason that I can’t see from a fans perspective. Not sold from watching the highlights and trying to project his role here.

Demary is definitely in an interesting spot. If he comes back he might be our highest paid player ever in the NIL era, and nobody has him as a first round pick (yet). Would he rather make 2.5+ mil as a senior, or take a shot as a second round pick? I personally would take the money and the stardom of being UConn’s best player next year, and probably still be drafted the year after regardless.

Solo is only going pro if he’s giving up on NBA aspirations, which he has no reason to do. I’d confidently project him to be back, 95%. Him and Demary should be the backbone of a top 3 pre season team heading into next year, and the best backcourt in America.

.-.
Not sold on Pierce at all as a starting 4. The guy would want at the 4 replacing Alex would be Donnie Freeman from Syracuse

Why besides a few 3s he has made what has he showed you to think that? Ross isn't a good offensive player and definitely not in Ball's orbit. I love how guys overreact on judging our guys when they make a couple shots.
Solo shooting 41% this year.
ROSS shooting 48% this year
……….

Reibe's a guy who's shown unexpected, radical improvement when he's pressed into challenging situations. If he is called upon to start he'd probably do really well after a few games. can't really evaluate him on the sporatic playing time situations, the big games and how fast he improves more meaningful signals

Good News/ Bad News re: Silas . One of his few "weaknesses" re: his pro prospects is becoming a strength. Shooting 45.7% from 3
Here’s another weakness: being a junior in a historically loaded freshman draft

.-.
Usage is a thing
Yeah chucking up more shots leads to higher scoring. Solo is not efficient or effective this year. We dropped to 40 or whatever in offensive efficiency largely because Solo is shooting 3, 4, or 5, for 15 in too many games. Karaban also had some terrible shooting games that didn’t help our metrics. Don’t defend Solo, he has Not been good this year. I hope he turns it around but let’s be honest.
