2026 Recruiting: Caden Pierce (Transfer) potential interest

This is the first recruitment I can remember where it seems like at least 75% of the board is rooting against him picking UConn
Yeah pretty indifferent on him as he is only 6'6". I rather have someone as tall as Karaban or taller and with his reach who is more athletic while also able to shoot enough to keep teams honest.

This is OT, but since he was mentioned, does anyone know anything about Elezaj? I assume he won't get minutes next year either, but the kid is huge. Does he have any real potential, or do we expect him to shine somewhere else when the time comes? (My apologies if this is considered speculating.)

I think he's listed at 225lbs. If we brought back Coach Mike then I'm sure we could turn him into a useful piece.

I’m not 100% sold on Reibe starting next year yet some people think Stew is a lock lolol. The only 2 100% locks are Silas and Ball.
Really? There were mocks that had Reibe going late first round after his OOC play and you don’t think he’s good enough to start in college?

Good News/ Bad News re: Silas . One of his few "weaknesses" re: his pro prospects is becoming a strength. Shooting 45.7% from 3
Love Silas, but I don't know if his game translates to me. He does have great size/length, does many things really well, but nothing that stands out.

What would a MB be without playing around with some narrative. Have you seen how supersticious Hurley is? How emotional he is?
Plenty of real stuff to dissect without inventing narratives, if you ask me. Hurley has crazy stuff going on in his head, no doubt, but we're just guessing

Not in Hurley's world.
?? Is that why Stew/Ross has started over McNeeley and Liam? Hurley plays the best players. You could argue he rewarded Samson by starting him, but I think that was as much about Tarris needing time to find the energy.

As much as I have grown to like Stew as a glue guy, if he's our starting 4, imo, the portal process went poorly.

Maybe I'm crazy but I'm really not worried about the NBA taking him from us next year.

I think you're a little crazy to dismiss it, this is a guy who entered the NBA Draft last year so we already know it's on his radar. I think he'll come back but would be shocked if he's not testing the waters again this spring

I'm thinking you meant McNeeley and Braylon, I really don't think your going to get someone in that category in the portal but I could be wrong. If the coaching staff does get someone of that caliber I would believe still that Stewie would get the nod. Unless He does not materialize in the beginning of the season then I could see a change.

I thought it was a waste of time last year also tbh. Can't see anyone in Demary's position giving away all that NIL money to go fight for their lives in the G league, but RJ Luis did it last year, so you never know.

So did Proctor. I do think there are some kids out there that just want to move on and take their chances. But now there are kids looking to come back to college after getting drafted! So I don't think Silas would be that dumb. He should warrant the highest NIL on the team next year I would think.

Agree with you. Who wouldn't want him back if he wants to run it back? For now- He's showing up at crunch time to close games out. Why he's here.

Yes, sorry, Braylon... While I don't necessarily think we'd get someone with that talent, I'm sorry, I think we could pretty easily grab someone with more talent, prestige, and pedigree than Stew.

I mean, look at last year's top 3/4's in the portal. I feel like every single one of those guys would start over Stew. This is NOT a knock on Stew. It's just the realization that he is a supporting piece and a good one at that.

You twisted my post beyond recognition

I think he'll have choices-Plenty of time for that. Looks like he and his Family are having too much fun in Storrs. BET Showtime/Tournament time will be a wild ride.

Timberlake didn't come here. If he had, he might have hit some timely threes and we win the title anyway. Absolutely no way to know, unless you want to count it as a "miss" for some reason.
When someone has go to a guy that didn't even come here in the hopes of getting a miss, you know it's a great hit rate.

How did I twist your post?. You said “I’m not 100% sold on Reibe starting next year”

I countered that he was getting mocked in the first round. If he’s good enough to be a potential first round pick I find it odd he wouldn’t be a starter next year. Please explain how I twisted anything?

Because you inferred from my post that i “don’t think he’s good enough to start in college…” I didn’t say that. He’d start on almost every D1 team next year. He’d start on most this year. But I’m looking at UConn’s roster next year with an eye towards winning another chip. As I explained several posts later, after our noncon I was 100% sold on him starting as a soph on a chip team but maybe I’m down to 99% currently. Theres a big difference between that and you saying I don’t think he’s good enough to start in college. Regardless, my intent was to make a comparison for the sake of posters who think Stew is locked in as a starter.
