So in 2015 UConn has away OOC games in Tennessee and BYU. Makes for a pretty tough schedule.

Beats the heck out of away games at WMU ( no disrespect since they embarrassed us the last two years, but they play mainly a mid major schedule ) and Buffalo in the same season.

Can't tell if you are being serious... but in case you are, what makes you think that?

Wrong. 2015 we have Tennessee at home, and now @BYU. We go to Tennessee in 2016.

You say SB is the 3rd. All I've read, both today, are SB and BYU as OOC games for 2014. Am I missing one?

I am assuming we will be able to find a quality team with which to start a home and home series on the road in 2014. Teams are much more willing to schedule series that start with home games instead of road games. That is why getting BYU to start the series at UConn is so significant.

worst tailgate ever at the rent....this must be wardes big get!!!! burgers and 7up! horay!

its a good game tho...just not a #1 like a mich or tenn...cant rip warde for real on it...

No. Bearing. On. The. Tailgate. At. Rentschler. Whatsoever.

Do you really base your tailgate on the opponent? Chicken wings before the Buffalo game, should be a mere coincidence, not cause/effect.

It's not a big secret that the easiest BCS game to schedule right now is with BYU especially if you're willing to travel to Provo late in the season. BYU has been desperately trying to fill its OOC late season schedule.

In 2014, they have Nevada, Boise, (away) UNLV as their late season home games.
In 2015, they only had Cincy (and now UConn) home after mid October.
In 2016 they have no home games scheduled after mid October.

So while this game looks like a marriage of desperation, the bride at least has some sex appeal.

"“We are grateful to UConn for the opportunity to play this home-and-home series and look forward to the games,” said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. "The Huskies have played great football as an FBS member, winning league titles and earning numerous bowl invitations. Scheduling this game in the Northeast gives our fans traveling to the game opportunities to visit places they may not have been before. We are also excited to welcome UConn to Provo for its first-ever visit to LaVell Edwards Stadium.”"

No but I have been to Utah...twice. Salt Lake City is a disgustingly clean city. It's like they have little gnomes hiding in the alleys and if you track a tree leaf for more than a city block they scurry out, clean it, and back without anyone seeing them. The mountains make for a gorgeous back drop too.

BYU dealt with Jim McMahon for 4 years, anything Connecticut throws at them, pales in comparison.

that clean hugh? thats dirty clean!

i can care less about the visit to utah travel wise. when u book teams your sending the fanbase to expierence culture else where. but byu at the rent first is going to lead to some eye openers for some here.

i will say this right now. what ever we do seats wise for michigan end game. those will be full + more for byu. so we should be puming that. but hey, if we just expanded to 50k-60k then..............x.............y.........z....................yea

Um... Yeah, we really base our tailgate on the opponent. For the Buffalo game, I went to Bidwell the night before, ordered two Taverns with sauce on the side. During the tailgate I re-fried the wings in a cast iron pan, tossed em in the sauce right after... Let me tell you, it's one of the best ideas I've ever had. For Temple we did cheesesteaks, NC State we did NC BBQ, and so on...

Well, good luck deciding what the appropriate cuisine will be for BYU's visit. Having been to Salt Lake at least four times, I'm not sure how to theme that one. (Other than serving non-alcohol drinks, which is not going to happen).

Bidwell has the best wings in Eastern CT, but we, as a group, prepare our food for our tailgate from scratch...okay the wing sauce is bottled, but they aren't restaurant bought. BTW - for Buffalo, skip the wings and go right to bison burgers. We've had those on more than a few occasions, just can't tell you if it was before or because of we were playing UB or not.

If this is anything to go by, I can get on board cooking up some pastrami burgers...

#3: Jell-O - At one time, Utahns consumed more Jell-O per capita than any other state in the country. Green is the color of choice, but Utahns will eat just about any "Jell-O salad" if it contains canned fruit and is topped with whipped cream. Legend has it that peas were once added to the jiggly mix, but few have been willing to recount the culinary horrors.

Ha - Blue Jello shots it is!
