Butler game cancelled (merged multiple threads)

I stand corrected...we did make up the missed DePaul game thanks to South Carolina
requesting cancellation of our game with them.

Our regular season schedule though remains at 26 games...unless we can make up 'Nova or
Marquette or G'Town...assuming we don't lose any more of the upcoming games.

Again. Didn't I just say that? Doesn't anyone read my posts or am I invisible?:(
There are many snarky retorts on the tips of my fingers, however...

I'll just say that I didn't see it before I posted Alexa's tweet.

Sorry - but I am invisible in my real life as well and sometimes it pushes me to speak out.

Didn't the subject come up before that UConn needs a minimum number of games to qualify for the tournament? Is there a danger we won't have enough games?

I posted a thread earlier about this, and what to do with your tickets.

I hate that for you.

However, I don't know how you've survived 10 years around here if duplicate posts get under you skin.

I don't post that much, that's how. LOL

The minimum number of games required is 25. However, the NCAA is free to reduce that number
Assume they don't come.

As of now we have missed Marquette/G'Town/'Nova/DePaul/Butler.

Assume we do not make up any of them. If we play the rest of the upcoming schedule we will have 26 games.
NCAA wants...as of now...at least 25. Will they count conference tourney games? We would probably play 3....no guarantees.

Possible make -up dates for us? Large gap between game on Feb. 13 and 18. Another between Feb. 20 and 25.
Problem might be that the other 5 teams might not have a similar gap. Hope we try to arrange getting one or two make-up games in...preferably DePaul because they are legit.
Yeah, they require 25 games but are free to change it.:

Still don't know if BE tournament games count.

Anyway, I think they would alter the requirement if UConn fell short. I doubt that they would want to rule such a marquee program ineligible through no fault of their own.

UCONN has played 18 games so far this season. The team needs 25 games to qualify for the NCAA tournament. There are 8 regular season games remaining on the schedule + the BE Tournament ~3-4 more games.
Bottom line is UCONN can qualify for the tournament by only playing the remaining regular season games.

Damn and damn.

Waiting for the hail, pestilence and locusts. :( That's ok, keep Butler players safe and have UConn come up with a great game plan for UT.
Too funny. Feel you on that one.

Two whole days to teach the team how to get Azzi the ball in a position to sharpshoot.
(May also want to throw in a segment on getting her the ball when she’s open on cuts)

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference has announced that the Butler at No. 10/9 Connecticut women's basketball game, which was scheduled for Friday, February 4, has been canceled due to winter weather-related travel issues with the Bulldogs. Butler's next schedule game is Sunday at home against Seton Hall at 2 p.m. ET on the BIG EAST Digital Network presented by SoFi, while UConn is set to host No. 7/7 Tennessee Sunday at noon on FOX.

My glass half full argument. I was actually concerned that the Butler game tonight would give UConn one less day to prepare than the LV’s, as TN played last night. Considering that the LV’s lost a stinker in Gainesville and have to travel to Storrs - Advantage Geno. ;)

Will Geno throw a hissy fit and complain about Butler not managing the weather better so that his team isn’t inconvenienced? Maybe he can take a couple of potshots at refs, too.

Gabriel and Deberry must feel snakebit. This was probably the one game where they expected to see a fair amount of on court time compared to the per usual.:(
These two impress the heck out of me. They clearly understand the landscape and are handling it with class and maturity. Most games...Amari looks like she's having her own party on the sidelines. They are very supportive and the consistency tells me it's genuinine.
