Because it's a useless online poll?

Listen, Fartman69 (if that's even your real name), I know it's a meaningless poll, but it's being conducted in the heart of the Big 12. Given that it's a conference we're (allegedly) trying to get into, why give our haters any more ammunition by having UConn finish behind our competitors?

Because those people have no influence on our conference situation.

Then why is everyone twitching to get UConn's percentage up?

You can't have it both ways.

And why are we posting UConn's CR virtues on various message boards and on Twitter?

Because our "haters" have zero affect on whether we get into the conference or not.

I mixed us up with current conference foes, former conference foes, schools not too far from me so I can actually attend games, and other schools I just plain hate. I called it The Big Mess. Needless to say, it's not a popular combination.

up to 19%.... not too shabby

Fun, if not sad exercise.

I created the B1G (16)

UConn
Illinois
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Maryland
Michigan
Michigan State
Minnesota
Nebraska
Notre Dame
Ohio State
Penn State
Purdue
Rutgers
Wisconsin

All contiguous. Added UConn and KU to get to 16 and swapped out Northwestern for Notre Dame.
I like it. I would put in Virginia instead of Kansas and keep Northwestern .It would give us a little more eastern rivals with Virginia.

There might be a few other schools that could nudge their way in over others for geography or whatever... make Buffalo, UMass, Maryland, Pitt, Rutgers associate members maybe...

If you're going ideal with it, though, don't you bump out Northwestern and replace them with Virginia or something, and Purdue with UNC?

Thought about it but NCST is attached to the UNC hip along with Duke

This is pretty simple if it could be done. Omit the B12 and the AAC and consolidate some of their teams into other conferences. The only school that I would swap out of a conference would be Florida State. Then make four Power Conferences of 18 teams with two divisions of nine teams. This number of teams works perfectly for both football and for basketball. For football you play each team in your division once. Then football would hold its conference playoff championship game between be the winner of each division. For a Football Final Four the winners would meet to determine a champion as is done now. Having 18 teams does work for basketball as well. You play every team in your conference once for a 17 game conference schedule.
