No homerism. Providence was supposed to be an island of misfit toys with no clear direction. 16 & 9 with nearly 40% from 3P. I think he's the clear BE player of the year.

agreed with boum the runner up imo

Yes, probably Bryce...unless we hold him scoreless on Wed ;)
. Adama & Hawk should both be on the 1st Team
. AK should easily be Freshman of the year
. DC should be 6th man of the year
. Ajax under consideration for Defensive player of year, but it will probably be Kalkbrenner

His per-40 stats are not as impressive as Sanogo's... He plays 37 mpg. But it's hard to see him not getting it. He's been carrying the team all year. Cooley did a great job with him.

Souley Bourn has a real argument for BE POY.
He is a massive upgrade over Paul Scruggs and Sean Miller is light years ahead of Travis Steele. That along with Freemantle being healthy to start this season and not showing effects of breaking his foot from last year are the 3 biggest factors in Xavier's resurgence (I know he broke that same foot again a few weeks ago). Last year Freemantle never looked like he fully recovered from that broken foot.

He reminds me of Kemba "light", n the sense of his quickness, penetration and shooting, and also kinda resembles him.

I said the same thing a while back and Husky429 jumped all over me. Hopkins' numbers are more impressive in conference play at 18.2 ppg and 9.8 rpg.

There are 3 or 4 players who are in the hunt, Hopkins and Boum are two of them.

With 4 games to go and a top seed still out there, one of them can really step it up in next two weeks and seal the deal.

Hopkins is a fine choice. I wouldn’t be mad if he gets it. I think POY/first team will be him, Boum, Adama, Hawk, Kolek, and someone from Creighton

Kolek, Boum, Hawkins, Hopkins, Sanogo, Kalkbrenner should be the POTY + 5 man team that they do. IMO. If Marquette wins sole 1st place, which they are favored to do, I would give it to Kolek. Otherwise Hopkins has a good shot.

Ighodaro, Carter, Nunge, Scheierman, Alexander, Croswell, Soriano, Dixon, Daniels, Gibson, Jones, Kam Jones the next tier down in no order.

It’s a shame that DC doesn’t have their PT because rebounds and blocks could well be his.

I think both guards at Marquette- Tyler Kolkata and Kameron Jones have been very good for their team and Kolek is a jack of all trades. However not sure if either one on their own is POY
Not convinced on Hopkins but he is the top 3-5. If Devin Carter was consistent from the start he would be in the conversation. Love his game.
Bourn is a top candidate as is Kalkbrenner, Kaluma, Hawkins and Sanogo.
I’m voting Hawk;)
It will be close

Big East POY should be a three horse race between Hopkins, Kolek, and Boum.
When does the voting start? There’s a lot of basketball between now and MM. I think who has the best Big East Tournament wins it.

It's picked the day after the regular season ends, but you're correct that there's still a lot of time to make a final decision

I hope Hopkins gets it. He deserves it. Though I have my doubts about his making a splash in the NBA.
