Where he's come from the beginning of the year from til now, absolute growth. We get glimpses of beautiful post moves, great rebounds, and great basketball reaction (alley oop off the pick and roll).

He's ahead of Thabeet at this point in his career.

Hit the weight and film room son, you will be a BEAST SOON.

I know it's two years away but man the next two seasons are going to be fun, especially if no players (Hamilton, Purvis) one and done us

I have to agree that i really like what im seeing out of Brimah. With some time in the weight room and some more experience he could be a terrific player and i think he will make a huge leap in his second season. I think he is the reason ollie isnt really worried about getting a bunch of bigs in the recruiting. not saying hes not trying but i think with brimah, facey and lubin we`ll be ok in the post the next couple years. i really like facey and think he could be a good rebounder for us.

Good point. Maybe this guy Ollie knows a thing or two about putting together a good team...!

He's holding on to rebounds better and those baby hooks from the post! We have our big man but I would still like a 6'8" board guy like roscoe.

That post move last night was PRO! And his rebounding has really improved.

Glad to see KO has the same ability as Calhoun to identify 'diamonds-in-the-rough' as far as recruits go. No way Brimah is here for 4 years. Agreed that he's a lottery pick after his junior season.

You're really right about the "diamond in the rough" thing. The other big mem that we were going after before we got Brimah (Bradley Hayes, Kameron Rooks) haven't done much at all...

I forgot all about Hayes, just googled him and I didn't even realize he was still on Georgetown's roster, dude doesn't play at all

But wait we need a big man's coach:rolleyes:. Gotta admit the coaching staff is doing a phenomenal job. This team is pretty damn good

If AB works hard this summer he will be a first rounder next year. Too much potential there for teams to pass up. For this reason a big needs to be priority #1 for 2015.

Absolutely agree hes a top 5 pick easy.
I think Hakeem would be willing to work with him in the summer in terms of skills and someone needs to get him a personal trainer and put tremendous work into the right diet and weight program. You can see what he can become--maybe even top over all pick.

Let's hope this new strength & conditioning coach insists Nolan, Brima, Facey, & Daniels properly hit the weight room this summer.
After seeing Daniels lack of weight training over the past 3 years, I can understand why a change was made. Let alone the lack of increased strength on the football squad.

Or Gavin Shilling, who is at least on a good MSU team.

The post up, two dribble, shoulder fake, hook shot. That was impressive. Next for him is developing a hook over his right shoulder, or a counter. Those will take longer. Honestly that might have been the most impressive big man post up in 4+ years.

I still shudder thinking of the AO shoulder charge post up attempts and Drummond still can't post properly. It says something about not learning bad habits early (good soccer footwork also helps).

Pearl made a great point last night about Brimah's foot spacing on rebounds. Said he has his feet too close together.
Once he picks up things like that he will even tougher for teams to handle.

Was just going to bring up the fact he was a striker. Just needs more strength so he doesn't get hit with fouls

How many UConn players do we say "if they just hit the weights" over the summer..

Tell me who has come here and gotten substantially stronger?

They come in with muscle (Oak, Adrien) or they don't get there.
Never know with the new strength and conditioning coach. Maybe the players will have a new training program over the summer.

Hakeem isn't working anyone unless he's getting $100k for a couple weeks worth of lessons. I'm impressed by what I'm seeing in the post from our guys when they get opportunities, Nolan has some pretty good moves himself, he just needs to slow down when he first receives the ball, he looks to be in a rush and thats when he starts fumbling the ball around.

Just from recent guys Bazz, Boat, Lamb, and Kemba were all considerably bigger after a few years and they came in with pipe cleaners for arms. Nolan has put on alot of muscle since he first got here, last year you couldn't tell him apart from DD. With someone like DD it just looks like he can't put on any weight.

I was going to bring up P Nolan in that he has gotten noticeably stronger from this year to last. He has definition in his arms now. Last year? Not so much.

Nolan just needs to cut down on fouls. He just isn't a shot blocker. I like that he challenges shots but he needs to keep his arms up and not over. He does a lot of nice things that don't show up.

The fact Brimah is up to 4.3 ppg (6.2 in conference) is kind of amazing. Need to get those rebound numbers up though.

Agree on DD. Some people just have trouble putting on weight. There is no one like that with my SS #.
