The concerns about being insensitive and hurting Britney's feelings are certainly valid.
I also understand that it is of high importance to those who are of the politically correct mindset to protect the rights of those who are different, including hermaphrodite and transexual individuals. I certainly believe that everyone should be treated with dignity and respect.
However, there are several things about Britney (the deep voice, prominent Adam's apple, masculine shape of shoulders and hips snd perhaps most importantly the fact that there are no other women in the world who share Britney's combination of size and athleticism...not even among the African tribes where seven foot tall men are common) that raise questions regarding Britney's true gender.
Now, the NCAA has made it clear from other cases that transgender players are allowed to compete as women. The international track and field organizations used to exclude transexuals and hermaphrodites from female competition, but at the last Olympics they have clearly revised that position.
The problem is that Britney is being hailed as the most dominant player in the history of women's basketball. I feel that it is a problem if the person with this title were not a true 46XX female, no matter how politically incorrect that may sound.
