Brendan Adams to UConn

Agreed. He's my favorite player on the team.

I think the epitome of Vital is at the end of the last game of the Ollie era against SMU, in the worst time in UConn basketball history, Vital was busting his arse right until the buzzer of a game that wasn't even close.

CV, JA and Purv will always be some of my favorite Huskies ever for the poise, commitment and fire they’ve shown thru this period. Obviously JA/CV have a shot to turn things around next year, but these kids are absolutely everything you could ever want from a representative of the program.

As for Adams, I probably feel the same as most. Can’t teach size....hopefully, with the guys in front of him, he won’t be overextended and will be able to ease in and carve out a role. Good get.

Is he a combo or point?

Is he a shooter or just athletic?

I like the interest he got from other schools in both of his recruitments.

This is a very quality addition especially this late in the game. Rivals 150 kid and his unranked brother became an absolute stud.

Excellent basketball genes.

This is from a year a go but for background:

Already holding a number of scholarship offers with a slew of others involved, Adams displays many of the characteristics of a high-level player. He can score from all three levels on the floor, sports a solid motor, brings good size onto the perimeter, and in the classroom is a standout student.

best post of the entire thread so far. Sounds like a great addition.

I like the kids size and motor and it appears that he has a decent handle and has some shooting ability
He is a replacement for Akinjo but is ranked lower in both overall and by position by Rivals. However, at this point, it's a good get
Coach Dan Hurley will mold him over the 4 years that BA is at UConn (that's what I like the best - looks like a long term player)
WELCOME to UConn Brendan!!!!

Good to see he has offers from Princeton and Columbia, should be a worry with grades which is always a concern.

I'm happy we got this kid, but this shows me how nuts this board is (not directed at you gtcam). I would have been happy with KO's recruits as well. Akinjo was ranked higher, many on this board said we shouldn't be upset loosing a top 150 recruit, we should be pulling in better. Now, we get a top 150 recruit and it's huge. I don't get it?

Did he commit to Dunkin Donuts or UConn? Still waiting for more confirmation.
I'd say "same thing" but I don't feel like having my post as a footnote in a NCAA notice of infractions.

Many on this board said it sucks losing Akinjo, but he's not worth keeping Ollie. I don't know where this fabrication comes from, that people are happy to see Akinjo go.

Because sports message boards live at the intersection of Hyperbole St and Hypocrisy Ave? Just down the way from Schadenfreude Road?

Because Adams fills a hole we need, which is depth at guard. Plus he has a lot of upside from the sounds of it.
This won't feel as good if we don't get a big fish like Lecque in the future, and if Adams ends up being anything higher than our 3rd guard. But considering what we've been dealing with, this is a good start. Obviously would've taken Akinjo over Adams, but I wasn't expecting Akinjo to stay anyway.
