Brendan Adams to UConn

Reminds me of a Sam Cassel Jr. Hopefully I m wrong on this

Literally nothing about his game looks like Sam Jr. Sam had to play with his back to he basket because he was not quick enough or a good enough ball handler to take guys off the dribble. He had no lift on his jump shot and a slow release. None of that describes Adams.

An amusing number of URI fans seem to believe this couldn't have happened without UConn tampering. As if it's that hard to believe he just wants to follow Hurley without anyone telling him what to do.

Go check out the URI forum thread on Adams for a good laugh. They are discussing wild conspiracy theories about Hurley and Adams.

I would imagine tampering happens a lot in college basketball and I highly doubt anyone cares.

I mean with every recruit, the simple question is - does he make the team better or make us better than we were last year?

-He's clearly going to be an upgrade over Anderson. Check.
-We lack guard depth - he gives us insurance which we haven't had for years. Check.
-He's a bigger guy with some upside who can shoot. He could outkick his coverage for four years. Check.
-He's not as good as Akinjo, but he's still a top 150 guy who will be a solid piece for a while.

So I mean across the board, we're better because he's coming than we were yesterday or last year. So yeah. Sign me up. Especially this late in the process.

Started following him on Instagram, dude is in the gym at 7am every morning.
He's going to be the hardest working player on the team. Word is that he is a gym rat, first player in last player out.

coach's son? Deceptively athletic?
Coaches son. He's pretty athletic, i wouldnt call it deceptive. Problem for him is that he takes plays off (especially on the defensive end), can have trouble staying in front of smaller quicker guards. His shooting is better than advertised.

Did he commit to Dunkin Donuts or UConn? Still waiting for more confirmation.

I wish a few of our string bean bigs would commit to Dunkin' Donuts...maybe a dozen a day. ;)

That's something which can be fixed pretty easily with good coaching at the college level. If you don't play all out D, you don't play. With Hurley at least.

It's the same as his twitter handle I think. BATrey5 or something like that.
Wow great info! Love hearing this. The fact Adams is in the gym @ 7 AM.

One of the most challenging things for a limited guy like me is navigating instagram, twitter and other message boards in general to data mine key info... to help make more informed decisions. The BY is a true golden nugget in that regard. So many creative, intelligent and resourceful human beings here. It truly is humbling.

Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!

I'm excited about Brendan. He could end up being Hurley's Chris Smith.

I don’t know if I’m all that. Maybe one or two of those things, but thanks.

It's almost scary how much this kid looks and plays like his brother. Except he's 2 inches taller. I mean just a carbon copy. I'm positive that's what Coach Hurley sees in him.
