Bracketology - week of Jan 27

There's no defined criteria for the at large teams and that's why teams that make the tournament have different bodies of work/resumes. You don't believe that teams that aren't Virginia Tech that don't have Q1 wins shouldn't be in NCAAT. I should say coached by Megan Duffy because you didn't ride for VT this hard when Kenny Brooks was the coach.

ACC as a whole is mediocre conference in relative to what used to bring the past Since you seem to be stalking my posts on different boards, you should know that I'm on record as saying that before the season even began.
Shocker! Kenny Brooks is unlikable and, outside of Liz Kitley and Cayla King, so was that VT team.

BTW, UNC isn't the only ACC team still waiting for a Q1 win, so you guys have company courtesy of UVA.

So a couple of things UK related - why did Creme drop them from his projections - like completely? And do committees still take injuries into accout? UK lost a couple of bad ones with Key out.

There have been a bunch of decisions by the committee where decisions wrt injuries resulted in both higher and lower seeds for teams. IMO, and I'll admit I'm a homer, here and now, however 1998 still burns.

Before the 1998 NCAA tourney, Nykesha tore her achilles in February, and then UConn was given a #2 seed, however Stanford (um) delayed reporting injuries after Nygaard (ACL in regular season final, and Folkl (ACL, along with meniscus damage and a bone bruise, during a practice session just before the tournament). These two players contributed approximately 34 PPG, however the committee decided to give them a #1 seed. One of the only times I've ever seen Geno publicly irate.

#16 Harvard beats #1 Stanford, 71-67, and although HU was humbled in the 2nd round by Arkansas 82-64, Allison Feaster went on to have a good pro career, married Danny Strong, had Sarah, and the rest is history. 😁

I don't see USC making it into the Main tournament this year. 8 games left, 4 winnable games and 4 maybe games. I am sure they will get invites to the tournaments.
You may not see it but I do. They are knocking on the door of hosting, which I don't think will happen but it's more likely than that they miss the tournament. Smith's absense probably cost them a few wins, and I won't be surprised if that hurts their seeding a bit, but not enough to keep them out of the tournament.

.-.
So here's a prediction before tomorrow's new thread is posted. Tenn & MD drop out of top 16.

I agree with USC making the tournament, but I'm not clear on how you see them having an outside shot at hosting when they're not in the top 25 at the moment.
