For the tourney both DirecTV (and Dish, apparently) have 4 "extra" stations (788-791 on DirecTV) that carry all the individual games. I did not watch one second of the main station feed, just picked and chose the games I wanted. Of course you do get the studio half-times.

In the old days, ESPN had a (men's, almost exclusively) basketball package called "Full Court" that showed on these stations. Often not in HiDef. Never subscribed. But even then, come tourney time, the women would show up the first 4 days and yes, in HiDef. Next weekend, the games are all broadcast in their entirety on the regular ESPN stations.

If you look at the "coverage maps" on the ESPN website, you will see these stations listed for each game.

If you're in CT - you'll get the entire UConn game on ESPN2, even if UConn's up 900 points.

zls44: You NAILED it. We went with your call on this and were richly rewarded. How did you KNOW this? Terrific - and MANY thanks from here.

KBAZ: Very thoughtful of you to pass this info along. Thank you.
