Bowling with the Huskies in Milford

Sometimes I wish I lived in CT, then I remember that it gets below freezing, has snowstorms, and high taxes. So I'll watch from afar here in sunny Las Vegas were the low was 43 and the high will be 63 degrees. Tomorrow will be 45 and 69, and no income taxes. Hope everyone enjoys themselves and they raise a lot of money.:)

Dam, I would like to go to that. I have to show up at the Middletown courthouse for jury duty on the 2nd. I took my wife to the doctor yesterday and she learned that she did not have to go into the hospital for three days she was originally scheduled for. That is good news, but I was going to use that excuse to get out of my jury duty. Would it help if I tell them that I fall asleep every afternoon and wouldn't be good on a jury?

I just tell the defendant's lawyer that their client definitely looks guilty.

How do they find time to bowl with fans lol. Wish I could go but I live in Georgia and shant get on a plane and get a hotel just for this. Hopefully there’s lots of clips though

I was in Las Vegas many, many, many years ago!
It was 100 degrees the 3 days I was there! I got a terrible sun burn at the pool!
Life started at sundown to dawn then they rolled the streets up!
I saw a guy win and lose a fortune over the 3 days at a slot machine while I went about my trip!

And those are the good things :)

Who do you think is the best bowler on the team. I'm going to go with Ash because most kids when I was growing up in Indiana bowled at least once a week.
I love to hear about these fund-raising events with the players involved... UConn's got the highest quality young women and this is just another example. I won't be able to be there, but I wish I could... I bowled for many years at a reasonable standard and it'd be fun to see these world-class athletes going at it.

You could well be right, MSGRET, about Ashlynn, given her MIdwest background (Paige, too), plus she's as competitive as any. We don't know who'll be bowling, but I'll take Kaitlyn. Tough call, though, 'cause excellent bowlers come in all shapes and sizes, and it'll likely be only a one-game shootout. I hope they have fun, and will return for an encore some day soon.

We're off to Corvara for a month's Dolomiti skiing via London and Venice on Tuesday...

Can't do everything.....

Only if you snore like a drunken sailor!

I've lived here in Vegas since 97, got called up for jury duty in 99. When they were asking me questions I stated that I couldn't hear them. They didn't believe me and gave me a hearing test, after the test they let me go and but me on a released from jury duty list. I'm completely deaf in my right ear and at the time I didn't wear hearing aids. Haven't told them that VA has issued me CROSS hearing aids and I can hear pretty good now.:)

It was a blast!!

Ask Jana for some legal advice.

Looks like everyone except Ayanna and Morgan... that's a wonderful turnout of players.

I'd be interested, too, if any of them are really good bowlers. Whatever the case, the event was just another reason to love the Huskies!

I enjoyed your pictures; thanks for sharing. How was the turnout? Did the team do any bowling or was it mostly just mingling with the fans?
I was there too; got to hang out with @Tonyc which was an added bonus. There were over 400 people there. Geno spoke briefly and said he appreciated all the support; especially at the home games this year which have all been sellouts. He pointed out that this hasn’t happened in a long time.

Azzi thanked everyone at the end of the event and acknowledged the UConn fan base as being the best.

Overall, it was a fantastic event; great time had by all and the photo ops were amazing!

Mostly mingling, but Paige, Q, and Ice bowled a bit on our lane, so I assume they did on others as well. Not much though, just a one turn kinda thing. The players made it to every lane to visit with fans. 53 lanes, 6-8 bowlers per so at least 375 people. Each player had an accompanying UConn aide with them at all times, and there was ample uniformed security/Milford police. It was very well thought out. The facility had servers assigned to each lane, soda, water, pizza, chips, dips and chicken bites were served for the duration, all included. It was a great time.
