Bowl Games (Non-UConn)

There is nobody at the Gasparilla Bowl.
Prior years attendance:

This year's attendance was listed as 13,336 per ESPN...from what I saw ain't no way they had that many people in the seats in today's game. It almost seemed like the cameras tried to avoid showing the stands. Hell, the Myrtle Beach Bowl looked better attended, and they had 9000+.

13k is really bad. Yikes.

Bama and OU started out good, but mam it really looks like neither team wants to win

OU showing signs of life, in the 4th. They dominated early, but I thought the game really turned when Mateer had an easy first down run up 17-7, but instead takes a shot at a big gainer, the pass wasn't great, but catchable, and the receiver dropped it. The next play the punter drops the ball (Bama cashes in a FG on the short field) and the next series Mateer has the pick-6 tying the game putting Bama squarely in control for the rest of the half and the third quarter.

Freeman>Sandell. Our PK would have made those kicks.

I predicted Alabama would steal the Title as they had the easiest path. They'll roll over 1-hit wonder Indiana next.

The sim I've been running has Ohio State as the best team and Alabama as the second best team. Matchup with Indiana will be fun and it's tough draw for the Hoosiers for sure.

Miami's kicker is gonna have a long ride home if they lose this game. Missed 2 FGs and had another blocked.

This game is terrible. It’s like both teams want to be eliminated
That’s why there shouldn’t be a playoff. Both these teams should be playing in the Cheese It Bowl. Not championship worthy one bit.

When in doubt root against the SEC... so if someone has to win a dreadful game (between the two teams that beat Notre Dame) it might as well hinder the SEC narrative.

I’m impressed by how Toledo is playing, they don’t look too overmatched and they’re playing hungry

I am impressed with Toledo on the Defensive side, not sure our D could limit Ville to 7 (so far) in the first half.

That was me of the knocks on Candle from the Toledo fans - teams were very undisciplined and lost games due to really dumb penalties. Definitely seeing that with Toledo today.

Toledo’s QB, Osborn, has a lot of potential. He’s a beast on the ground and throws it ok too. He’s young so there’s room for development. Wouldn’t mind him joining us.

Toledo killing themselves with penalties.
They were among the most (if not the most) penalized teams in the country this year. Last year too, I believe.

Mora's teams were very disciplined - I think we were 18th least penalized this year or something like that. That's going to be an adjustment!
