Bowl Games (Non-UConn)

The QB ran it in on the next 4th down play so no matter. But whose fault is this? Everyone seems to be blaming the TE but did the TE get a late start or did they hike the ball too soon. Pretty empty Ford Field too, of course, for the Scooter's Coffee Frisco Bowl

Down 21-0, Hawaii ties a great game, trades leads with Cal, then wins it wins it 35-31 with a ballsy call and TD pass by back up QB with 10 rebounds remaining. Back up only in the game for a play due to player of the game starter’s injury in prior play. MWC > ACC

The UNLV TE “tackling” the RB sums up my level of interest in the bowl games, bloopers.

The Hawaii bowl is always one of the more entertaining bowl games. Always on Christmas Eve, you sneak off into the living room during your Christmas Eve party and maybe a couple of friends/relatives will join you as everyone is stuffed from eating. An opportunity to crash on the couch then you wake up in the 2nd half.

It wouldn't be the Hawaii bowl without Hawaii and Timmy Chang.

That freshman quarterback they have is something else - he is just a winner. If he stays there and stays healthy maybe there's a Cinderella story in their future over the next 3 years.

Hated the second and third down playcalling by New Mexico on their last drive of regulation. Nine wins and the coaches seemed to freeze up only needing a FG vs Minnesota Maniac Fleck.

Meanwhile, in FCS…

When you have the 2 biggest teams in the state — pro or college in any sport , and huge rivals - playing each other, interest is high.
25k attendance (stadium record, 5k over regular capacity)

In contrast, the other FCS semi got < 4500.

What an awful call to deny ECU a TD. "Inadvertent whistle", lol.

And next play, Pitt takes a fumble into the end zone.

This North Texas v SDSU game is exciting. ESPN

UVA just started the 2nd half with a 19 play drive taking up 10:07 for a go-ahead TD.

I am surprised the Sec supports Nil. Now that everyone can pay players there ability to cheat is limited and they look average in bowl games. Tennessee and Vanderbilt didn’t look that great and were consider semi pro teams by Georgia and Alabama fans.

Look at Clemson. nil starts and they are a 6-6 team now.

I don’t think SEC schools were the only ones paying players. That implies the B1G wasn’t either

Maybe, but it seems like it affected the Sec more. I don’t expect a Sec team to win the title this year. I don’t expect a Sec team in the title game.

But games only count if the Sec wins. If they don’t win then the game wasn’t taken seriously or it wasn’t a good matchup for them.

Duke player gets ejected in the first half for what appeared to be for him spiting on the ground near the ref's feet. Not sure that is a rule violation but I could be wrong.

I am rooting for Duke - never thought I would type that... Just saw Duke QB run 20, and at end of run, spun ball and did a little first down pointing...

Hmm.... Skyler Bell got about 3 flags for unsportmanlike conduct for doing celebrations like this - maybe even toned down than this... Hmm... Guess you have to be in a conference to celebrate a good play LOL

From sunny, but cool, Orlando. The Citrus Bowl looks pretty full and both teams have an awful lot of fans here. Michigan is playing a freshman quarterback that seems to be getting better as the game goes on. It’s currently tied at 17 at halftime

Announced attendance is 47,317, about the same as last year

"The Gasparilla Bowl saw the biggest decline, while the Texas Bowl led with 63,867 and the Pinstripe Bowl also increased."

Pinstripe had Penn St & Clemson and got 41k. Last year it was BC and Nebraska and got 30k.
