I was at Norfolk Wine & Spirits, Norfolk MA and saw this on sale. It was $30 marked down from $60. This is MGP's newly created brand. It's excellent. I went back and bought two more Saturday, stumbled upon a tasting and the owner came over because I hadn't seen him in awhile. Agreed the price was crazy. If you live local, it's an amazing store with frequent tastings, great store picks and a huge Scotch inventory (also now lots of rum and mezcal).

Any suggestions for a top shelf anejo tequila?
I am aware of Don Julio 1942 and know it tastes great.
It’s a gift for a good friend and a top shelf 18 month anejo is something he would appreciate.
I'm okay going up to about $250-$300 if it's worth it

Yikes. Don’t do that. Forelaza Anejo. Probably $100 even. Best stuff there is really. The Reposado is really nice. G4 is also very good. Either one will be a very good choice. Don Julio is marketing

Thanks. Looks like scarcity can affect pricing for Fortaleza. I'll look for a bottle. Any other suggestions?

Wow. Those are ridiculous prices. Did you look at local shops? I may need to hoard my unopened Fortaleza Reposado. The tariffs are probably causing people to jack up prices even though the stuff on shelves wasn't subject to it.

Those online shops you checked all seem to charge well over retail. Are you shipping it?
For Whiskey and Mezcal this site is good. SharedPour.com

Looks like I need to go buy some Tequilla and Mezcal.

Thanks. I will be checking out some local liquor stores along with the military exchange liquor stores to see what is available. I'm hand carrying it for a friend who's a doctor and helped me out with some stuff.
He enjoys a good sipping tequila and has a preference for anejos more than resposados.

The fancier the bottle, like those skulls or weird shaped painted things, generally the worse the product inside.

Cant load a photo for some stupid reason, but I snagged a Nulu double oak at work Sat. With my lovely gift card for working on Xmas and my discount, I was out the door at $33.00 lol. I know its MGP, but they do know how to make good whiskey. And this is good damn whiskey. It tastes like a candy bar, all chocolate and caramel. Its 7 years old, with 2.5 years of secondary oak maturation.

The various single barrel MGP bottles from different bottlers are some of the best things going. I've loved all my Tumbling Dice bottles so far.
