I think Ricky went back and forth between Avery (3-12) and Langdon. He also shut down Scoonie Penn (scoreless for the first 10 minutes, 3-13) in the semis.
Ricky played a different style D than Boat. Ricky was steady, hard-nosed 'this is my man, I'm going to stay in front of him and lock him down, there's no way he's getting an open look'.
Boat in the tournament was more reminiscent of a John Linehan style. Helter skelter, pressure you and get up under you, steal the ball.
We're quibbling about nothing though fellas. There's plenty of room for both Ricky and Boat at the top of our tourney defense pantheon.
Exactly why can't we just appreciate both Boat and Ricky.
