OT: Black Music Month - The Legends of Black Music

Always liked this song. Written by Stevie Wonder (and Melody McCulley)

Try Jah Love - Third World.

Wow, we missed these guys too. Just because they didn't actually sing the songs??? (Brad Howell and John Davis were black singers)

Blame It On the Rain - Milli Vanilli

From my hometown of Washington, DC.

Try suggesting Dinah Washington, one of the greatest "black" female singers ever...

Okay, this guy isn't a legend, but I'm gonna include it here anyway. Local artist. I saw him at Folklife Festival one time and was really impressed.

Billy Cobham - Heather. One gorgeous, very relaxing composistion:

My first instinct was to go with My Ding a ling but this one seems more appropriate for the gravitas of the thread.

Born in '48. In the late 50's, Elvis was the "King", Jerry Lee "Killer", but for me Chuck was the "Man".

I miss Bob Marley every day. Peter Tosh, Toots Hibbert, Leslie Kong . . . Thanks for bringing up reggae.

Here's one of my favorite Toots songs:
