Big Ten Conference Season Tip -off. Who's #1?

Michigan with a nice OT win against Maryland. Maryland was up 16 points and let Michigan back in the game. Nice win for Michigan. 5-3 in the Big Ten. Maryland 4-4.
Michigan needed that win, similar to Plebe's comment about Michigan State. Their game this weekend should be a good one.

Sydney P is one of my favorite players. Been a fan since high school. 2020 Miss Indiana Basketball. I wish things worked out for her in Oregon, but she went back to play for Indiana and has been doing well. This really stinks! Sending prayers for SP.

This is going to test Indiana's depth big time in my opinion. Will be interesting to see how they adjust.

Halftime:

Michigan State 48 - Michigan 30!
Final was 82-61. Michigan State didn't let up.

Chippy game with players on both sides dealing with foul trouble. Losing Phelia early in the 3rd with her fourth hurt Michigan's ability to run their offence.

PSU destroyed the Terps 112-76. The major blow for the Terps is Shyanne Sellers left the game at the end of the first half with a lower body injury. If she's out for the year, the season is basically over for the Terps.

Ugh. Recall seeing her take some tough shots during the Michigan game. She's been battling hard this season.

Michigan looked slow and in this game. You would think that playing a rival, like they did against Ohio State, Michigan would come out fired up. Nope. But great win for Michigan State.

Wow. Tough loss for the Terps on both accounts. Hope Sellers is okay and nothing season ending.

ARGH ARGH ARGH!!!!!

Tough blow. Any chance Minny had to qualify for post-season play is probably gone, but we have a young team here in Minnesota with a bright future. This will give the bench players more opportunity for growth, which should payoff next year.

Maybe. One thing I find interesting is that while Whalen struggled as a coach, she recruited a great nucleus of players with her last two classes. Glad they stuck around to help change the culture of the program.

A little disappointed I won't make it to Iowa-Maryland as I have two previous engagements. They are expecting 17,000 at Xfinity Center for the national TV game this evening.
17k, the Caitlin cam …. This is what we WCBB fans have wanted. Enjoy it while it lasts!

Minny travels to East Lansing to take on Michigan State tonight. The Spartans are looking to move up the standings and continue their winning streak. Minnesota is on a three-game losing streak which might continue tonight.

Didn't see the game but the score indicates your instincts were right. Losing Braun has had significant impact on the Gophers.

I was gonna say that the last couple of times I saw Maryland, their rebounding was subpar. I was wondering if Brenda’s mantra had changed. Then I tuned in to the UMD-Rutgers game a bit ago, and within about two minutes the Terps had six offensive rebounds. There may be some joy in Mudville.

Ohio State's looking more and more like the best of the Big Ten, crushing Nebraska tonight. Jacy Sheldon might not be a first-team All-American, but I'd love to have her on my team!

It should be interesting to see if Iowa can stay with the Buckeyes when they meet March 3 in Iowa City.

Ohio State seems to be hitting another gear based on their last few games. Not saying this game won't be close or that Iowa can't win, but it wouldn't surprise me if Ohio State won by a larger margin the next time either.
Ohio State is a great team to be sure. I didn't watch their game vs Nebraska last night, but I did look at the box score: Nebraska had 30 turnovers! I'm guessing the Buckeyes were pressing; in their game against Iowa they took it off because it was ineffective. I wouldn't be surprised to see them beat Iowa in Iowa City that last game of the season, but I'm not looking for any kind of easy win.
