Big East WBB Media Day Oct. 19 information

So the all big east team doesn't include the conference POY?
I'm GUESSING - I think the reason is because they want 10 players on the all BE team. Since Paige was voted conference POY, that makes 11, but no reason to put her on the 10 player team and leave someone else off.

So CPOY, and 10 on the all BE team - gives 11 players a chance for recognition...

Pre_season poll , UCONN is the favoitr and that's for sure ...
Till we don't go in a P5 conf, in WBB UConn's one will always be known as the P6 conf.
Paige for Conf PoY after unanimously been named Nat PoY is .... well
Azzi for Conf FoY is just a way to say we all think she will be named the national one
For all conference, they forgot Evina and I think it's a big mistake

Is there a rule in conference like in national "limiting a team to 3", cause we could see an all UCONN team as conf team
For me , PB + CW + EW + ONO + NM are sure shots at all conference
Then, + AE + AG + MMcL +ADB + CD are possible threats

@EricLA I suspect you have hit upon the BE's rationalization, but it is the height of irrational to have your POY excluded from the All BE Team. Better to have a First and a Second Team and have 8 people on each team and give even more player's recognition.

and Dorka is a mystery to me, I hope she won't be played like Natalie Butler used to be

Transfers are not a thing we are accustomed, remember the Azura Stevens thing
She was certainly a starter, playing big minutes

I'm not trying to be critical, but does Paige's pictures look photo shopped? She looks quite a bit different to me in this picture.
I think it’s just the way filter over it, looks like the contrast was increased.

Speaking of Dorka, does anyone know how many years of eligibility she has left?

I keep getting confused because she is never referred to when they are talking about seniors but she is listed as a grad player on the roster. I wasn’t sure if they are just leaving her out cause she’s new or if she is planning on staying two seasons.

Edit: so since she only played 3 seasons at OSU and she has an extra covid year she might be expected to stay 2 more seasons. The extra covid year gets confusing

She has two years of eligibility left. She finished her degree in psychology at Ohio State in three (which is why she's listed as a graduate student) and has her traditional fourth year and a COVID year remaining.

Thanks for clarifying. I keep getting the eligibility messed up in my head with the extra year.

Well, yes. Every professional photograph is processed, usually using Photoshop. Sharpening, clarity, contrast, perhaps removing a blemish here or there or a stray hair, pumping up the color a bit. That has all been done to the individual photos, and each has obviously been cut and pasted onto a background. And last but not least the image has to be made web friendly by reducing size and pixel count. This particular image is 534KB, at 96dpi. The original images were most likely 25MB. A large amount of image information gets lost sometimes and can make them look overworked.

All that said, the lighting on these photos is a bit overdone and is very non-flattering to the subjects.

A nice interview with AEH. Mature and well spoken.

I would have liked John Fanta to be interviewing some of the players.

I still like John's description of Paige 'Freakin' Bueckers.

Thanks for the info
The BY never fails to illuminate ….

That is not Geno. He always started a couple of new people the first game or two, and if they fizzled, he'll go bakc to a more experienced lineup. He is just as eager as we are to see what the "new guys" can do in a real game.

Always?
When exactly did he ever do this?

Hmm. Some love for Autumn.

Seemed to be the player most wanted to be alone with on the proverbial desert island.
I thought they said Evina "Momma E" because she's smart and would be the most resourceful...?

Funny that none of them wanted to do a Geno impression. Maybe they thought it might get back to them?

Still, always love hearing the young ladies get a chance to speak.

So if a two-time, Big 10 first team all conference player is now in the Big East, and there is no mention of her in preseason awards, does that mean the Big East is a better WBB conference than the Big 10?

They did say Momma E after they (Paige) said " Too bad Autumn is not here"

It means most coaches havent seen her play and are only going to vote for ~3 UConn players anyway.

Btw, anyone else having an issue with not being able to start new threads?
