Big East Tournament Thread

This game will bring him to about 33.33 % from 3 shooting 9 a game, with a close to 0 DWS and one of the worst DBPM in the entire conference. Keep him so far away from Storrs. Dudes gonna be on the AJ Storr track where he goes to any school that lets him hunt shots. Not a UConn guy.
Dude, don't be a stats nerd. Watch him play, his talent is ridiculous and he's had zero coaching this season.

I wanted nothing to do with Providence in this BET. If they come to play they are tough.

Enjoy that game tomorrow St. Johns.
Would be pretty hilarious to stomp out their tournament hopes in the BET tournament finals tho

Watched the second half. Stefan Vaaks is special. Just what we thought we were getting with Mullins.

Same them a third time especially early rounds where uconn struggles no thanks.

I’ve watched every game. The guy is the second worst defensive player by all metrics in the conference, next to All Wright. He’s not a bad defender. He’s an all world terrible defender who puts no effort in on D or the boards and floats up the court for his own ball. Fans wanting this kid is hilarious to me because there has never been a less Dan Hurley player in big east MBB

The whole team doesn't play defense, Oswin gets some blocks because he's an awesome shot blocker. English thought they would roll the ball out this season and score 95 ppg on their way to the tournament playing street ball.

You're holding his terrible coach against him.

From a pure matchup perspective, our side of the bracket is way friendlier.
I just realized I don't find any team friendly this year. I watch the women and every BE game is a circus. With the men im now scared of everyone.

I'll take winner of Marquette (revenge) and Gtown sans Lewis winner and Hodge-less Nova vs Prov & Hall

Actually the only team I think we'll run out of the gym is Marquette. I know this UConn team. I also know that if they get to the sweet 16 they'll go to indy

It's hard to know what we'll get.

Not gonna lie. Happy Marquette is gone.
Everyone was looking at it from a revenge point of view, and I get it. My concern was we would fail to knock Marquette out early, and then, their confidence would continue to rise.

One of our biggest weaknesses is their biggest strength (creating turnovers). I would rather face a team in Xavier where we just match up better.

Just stay focused those two games from the regular season are meaningless this is a new season.

Play your game. Xavier still can’t defend worth a damn. Just play solid d especially that 3 pt line and should win.

Hurley in the Fanta interview sounds like the guy who tried to catch the Bartman foul ball but luckily whiffed:
"But I didnt touch the ball. I never touched the ball. Glad I never touched the ball"

Now the question is will they sleepwalk vs Xavier since they blew them out 2x
I certainly hope not. That would be negligent of UConn if they come out flat due to lack of intensity.

Marquette ruined my mini parlay but otherwise I'm fine with playing X - I am not too worried about either team but James is a good player.

No opinion of Marquette losing. In spite of the loss last week:

A) No point in putting such emotional weight on “revenge” with such a bad team. Not worth our time and shouldn’t have lost to begin with

B) Wasn’t worried about them anyways. It took an uncharacteristically awful shooting night for us to have ever lost to them. That is the only way we could’ve possibly lost that game, even with all our other issues.

Anyways, no point in being negative, we got Xavier up next!

Good lord, it sounds like some of you were scared to play Marquette again.

I think the chances of our guys coming out flat and too over-confident against X is more likely.

That loss to Marquette should sting and take that possibility away.

But I'm not too worried about either one, knock on wood.

Yeah that's what it sounded like to me as well. Me? No, I wanted Marquette. Oh well. Now I want UConn to bring it against the X-Men.

More importantly UConn's players should have the attitude of your post.

Your point A applies to Creighton as well. The chances of UConn playing them in the BET final is so slim and Creighton is a bad team so no point in putting emotional weight on a revenge game against them.
