Big East Tournament Thread

You believe the crowd will be 65% UConn? Not sure where you get that from considering the last time we played them at MSG last month, it was like 80/20 SJU. I hope you're right though.
Remember that St. John's controlled a lot of the tickets for that game because they have season ticket holders who were not selling their best home game all season. Plus the BET final is a Saturday night instead of a Friday night. I don't think it would be 65% UConn fans but it won't be like February 6 either.

Fair point on the season tix holders. I think there were still tickets to be had on Ticketmaster, etc, for that game, but people weren't willing to pay for them. Would love to see us have a bigger turnout this time, we were overwhelmed last time. You know it's bad when you don't have to wait in line to pregame at Legends.

So obviously we all want Xavier to win today right?

Rooting for X, PC, and Georgetown

I have a weird feeling Seton Hall runs to Saturday and DePaul plays Friday night.

.-.
I guess we are desperate to win , if you put it that way.
We have a ticket into the dance, less desperate. For 8 teams, it's their season. As you put it, it might be one of the reasons you'd rather play a Hodge-less Nova than a SHU.

No one outside of Uconn fans care about whether we win the BE tourney or not.

Not watching but based on the score doesn’t seem like PC showing up for English today

.-.
Not to sound overly salty.

I hate hate hate that coach of the year award if really just the "coach's who team exceeded expectations" award.

It's in the same light as the NFL MVP award, which is really just which QB had the most eye popping stats.

I totally get that take.

BUT, if you’re judging who did the best coaching job, that’s kinda a natural leap to make.

It either goes there or to a guy who’ s seat is getting warm so he gets votes to save his job.

I guess the alternative is just give it to the coach of the league champ. He obviously did a good job.

PC not great down low. But Vaaks and Mela can give any team trouble.

Especially the St Johns

.-.
Vaaks, Mela, Jones & Sellers are probably the 3rd most talented quartet in the BE.
Yeah and Butler has nothing close but they get so many buckets down low. And they arent even big. PC has zero paint presence. That's why, if PC wins, the 1-4 guys need to be on fire from the jump vs SJ

With bad coaching they are kinda scary. With good coaching they would have been a total terror

I'll say it for the 50th time this season, it's insane how awful Kim English was with all this talent.

.-.
Vaaks is psycho. PC up 6 with 2 minutes left and he launches a deep three with 14 left on the shot clock

Nails it. DAGGER

8 threes today. Providence fans showed up to MSG

I been saying that for months

I don’t care if he can’t guard a chair
I've been saying it all season too.

He's had zero coaching this season, his talent is ridiculous.

We're lucky a kid this talented is playing right next door to us with his coach leaving and a stacked draft which is going to keep him in college another season. Hurley has to make it happen.
