Haven’t fact checked this but Russ is reliable. This is bad…very bad.

It’s true

Average Kenpom:
SEC: 38.4
B12: 40.8
B10: 41.1
BE: 63.5
ACC: 68.4

Bottom 10:
DePaul: 167
BC: 146
California: 134
Seton Hall: 106
Butler: 104
Georgetown: 97
VT: 96
Vanderbilt: 94
Georgia Tech: 92
Oklahoma St: 90

Fun fact that caught my eye. #12 worst is Syracuse at 85 lol

This is the Big East's best recruiting year in a while. Creighton, Providence, and Georgetown all had top 50 recruits per 247 aside from UConn. Via the composite, 8 different Big East schools had a top 100 recruit. Only Depaul, Butler, and Seton Hall did not.
Other than our recruits did any Big East team get a top 25 recruit? How many went to the SEC, Big 12, ACC or Big 10?

Isn't too early to be talking about KenPom?

That's an honest question.

I thought that KenPom until later in the season uses previous year data in the analysis, no?
100% you are on the money. It's too early to be talking KenPom or any sort of rankings after 1 week in the season.

It does, but that doesn't mean it's not still useful. That being said, there are a few rankings that are more off than average in both directions (Nova, DePaul)

I'm probably just misremembering, but Andre Screen looks taller than I remember. Like a true 7ft+

Nobody can miss in this game. Butler (-16.5) up 3 on Western Michigan after 10 minutes. Both teams on pace for 80+ points this game

Update: 1 team stayed on pace, the other didn’t. Butler cruises to an easy W

Took them until NYE to get a third win last year, and that was all they got.
They don’t look too bad right now…they scheduled fairly easily so with a decent Big East slate they could end up around .500

As NEWBE Homer and Hartford Courant practicing illiterate Dom Amore put it, getting out of the Big East isn’t about saving football. It’s about saving basketball, both men’s and women’s, too.

DePaul, Butler, and Marquette win.

23-3. Three bad losses: Villanova, Butler, and Seton Hall

Neptune is a dead man walking. They were terrible in the Big 5 last year. That means something down there even though Villanova is less provincial than some of the teams in the group and pretend they don't care. Even if they beat St. Joe's, it's just too late for him. St. Joe's seems to be pretty bad this year too. They barely beat Navy, lost to CCSU and lost to Bucknell in their scrimmage.

Neptune will make the season because he's a Nova guy and they have no AD. But he is just horrible and they gave him 1 year too long.

Nova will probably lose this to make it 4. 4 too many in an 11 team league. PC throwing up a stellar 14 points at home with 5 to go against a stellar Hampton. Throw out all the KP you want, the eyeball test is just as important.

The Nova offense is 5 guys staring at each other wondering which guy is gonna try and take his guy off the dribble.

There are 5 buy games for any team worth a dime in the BE. That’s half the league. I’ll hold off on PC with Hopkins coming back, but without him I would tack on as 6.

Neptune might not make it to conference play at this rate. Reminds me of end of KO era. Vanilla offense, no adjustments, players look checked out.
i will check WeHa Center to see if Neptune is holding down a barstool.
