I hate writing this, but the Johnnies look pretty good. And was Fairfield the favorite against Georgetown? They probably should be.

Georgetown -12.5. Fairfield is #296 out of 364 in Kenpom and are 0-1 with a 40 point loss to URI

When Georgetown has time to run actual offense, it looks like they are running some decent sets. But they lack the urgency (coaching) and skill to execute them. Just going through motions and waiting for Peavy to save them every possession

There wasn’t much defense by Q. In a few games we’ll find out about them. I dislike St. John’s, their fans and Rick who is desperate to make the tourney this year.

Georgetown looks terrible. They're trying to play uptempo but they're just taking bad shot after bad shot and giving Fairfield chances in transition back. Fairfield is not a good team at all, it's just that Georgetown is embarrassing themselves.

St Johns is not a good team. We should beat them by 30 both times. We are going to have a lot of bad losses OOC.

Thomas Sorber is a name to watch at Georgetown. Dude looks at least 6'10, strong, and active. Will be good to see how he performs against BE competition but I can see him being a really good player soon

Providence has a 7-2 big guy. They also start a 7-0 guy and have another 7 foot guy. But none of them seem that good. I see Hopkins is still recovering from his injury and not in the lineup. Providence will be pretty good when he comes back. Abdur-Rahim Georgia transfer looks legit.

It was a 4 point game when I went to take a shower and now PC is up 20 at halftime. Looks like this one will be a bit easier than the last one!

The BE perception is that it’s a great basketball conference. It’s not at the moment. Which makes the perception higher than what it actually is. It’s overrated

The best teams being in the mid west had nothing to do with my the big east sucks point. It was in response to the nostalgia of playing other regional rivals/powers.

7 out of 11 teams being bad is why the BE sucks. Keep up.

UConn needs to get out of the BE for basketball reasons. Just because something is working now doesn’t mean it will continue to. It will become harder and harder to game the net when your conference mates aren’t pulling their weight in OOC.

Check the BE OOC results the last 3 seasons. They continually drop the ball.

2023 the big east was garbage OOC. It took UConn losing in conference for everyone’s metrics to go up

Listen to yourself. St John's got ranked in some top 25s, is number 15 in KenPom, won their first game by 30, and you're like they're bad.

Wasn’t Nova 30th in kenpom to start the season?

20th. Inexplicably.

No team has plunged at KenPom through the first four days of the season like Villanova. The Wildcats, who were inexplicably ranked 20th at KenPom to start the week, now sit at 59th after their embarrassing 90-80 home loss to Columbia on Wednesday.

Not this year.
Seton Hall up 4. They foul Fordham on a 3 with 17 seconds left. Then Addae-Wusu drops a wide open pass out of bounds. Fordham buzzer beater for the win. Seton Hall is horrible

Can’t wait for them to smoke us by 15 in Newark

Thomas Sorber looks the part as Georgetown earns its second straight win

Freshman Thomas Sorber scored 20 points to go with 13 rebounds in his first game and followed it up with 25 points and nine rebounds on Saturday. Looks like Georgetown might have a center again!

Reality is that the BE is closer to the A10 than a P4 and it will continue to trend that way. If you want to follow the bread crumbs to reality, UConn is the only school that attracts any top HS talent. Look at all the freshman hype this year, none of it in the BE other than UConn. The the buzz with this frosh class is tangible, people want to see unique. The BE right now is a pack of stale feeling teams loaded with mid portal talent. Top kids want to play for big brands, NIL and large fan bases, not a school with a church on campus.

Right now the only thing the BE is selling is UConn and MSG. Danny is doing his best to keep it alive, in lieu of Val doing anything meaningful. A key for the BE was to have their top brands compelling, meanwhile GTown and Nova look like broken down Pintos. One thing keeping the league relevant is a group of older brand name coaches. Once they move on, can the league attract the next echelon? Who goes to StJ after Pitino?

I’d hop the first reasonable train out, let’s hope it comes soon. Anyone clinging to the BE is way too nostalgic, and not forward thinking. Adapt or die, especially in this rapidly changing collegiate sports landscape.

This is the Big East's best recruiting year in a while. Creighton, Providence, and Georgetown all had top 50 recruits per 247 aside from UConn. Via the composite, 8 different Big East schools had a top 100 recruit. Only Depaul, Butler, and Seton Hall did not.
