The Big East needs Marquette to win at Dayton tonight to salvage a .500 record versus the A-10. currently the BE has a 4-5 record with the Bonies win over Providence today.

The SEC is so much better than everyone else that it seems they are playing a different sport. Creighton played great tonight and never had a chance.

There could be 4 SEC teams in the Final Four.

UConn, Georgetown, and DePaul won. Providence, Marquette, Seton Hall, Butler, Xavier, and Creighton lost.

81-36 (18-22)

5-2 vs. ACC
5-9 vs. Big 12 (Big 12 won Big12-Big East Battle 6-5)
4-5 vs. SEC
4-6 vs. Big 10

OOC records by school:

Marquette 9-2 (4-1)
St. John's 9-2 (2-2)
UConn 8-3 (2-1)
Xavier 8-3 (2-3)
Creighton 7-4 (2-3)
Butler 7-4 (3-2)
Villanova 7-4 (1-2)
DePaul 7-2 (0-1)
Georgetown 8-2 (1-2)
Providence 6-5 (1-2)
Seton Hall 5-6 (0-3)

Bad losses (current Quad 3 and 4 losses): Villanova, Butler 2x, Georgetown, Providence, Seton Hall 3x

Games remaining:

DePaul @ Northwestern (12/21)
Coppin State @ Georgetown (12/28)
Loyola (MD) @ DePaul (12/28)
Delaware @ St. John's (12/28)

Must win all three cupcake games and DePaul beating Northwestern would be a nice cherry on top.

felt relieved to secure a q3 win after quite the scare from a mid-major at home. college basketball always delivers, gotta come prepared to play even agains the little guys!
Good luck in the NIT. Luckily for you the morons at the NCAA are thinking about expanding to 128. You may actually have a shot at getting in then.

Teams that I think will be in the field: UConn, Marquette, St. John's

Teams that may get in: Creighton, Xavier, DePaul, Villanova

Teams that are in trouble: Providence, Butler, Georgetown

Not happening: Seton Hall

Number of wins needed for bid (assuming DePaul loses to Northwestern and other three games vs. cupcakes are wins):

UConn- in
Marquette- in
St. John's- in
Creighton- 20 (strong OOC SOS)
Xavier- 21 (decent OOC SOS)
Villanova- 21 (decent OOC SOS)
Butler-21 (decent OOC SOS)
Providence-21 (decent OOC SOS)
DePaul- 23 (weak OOC SOS)
Georgetown- 23 (weak OOC SOS)
Seton Hall- out

Pretty brutal night for the BE outside of UConn over Gonzaga, ouch. Dayton looks for real though, should be ranked IMO.

What is the BE record versus the ACC thus year? It is only 4-7 against the A-10.

How many wins can Cuse get in the ACC this year? And if Red doesn’t learn how to coach, despite the recruiting class coming in, they are going to be bad again next year. It’s tough losing your HOF coach.

Their board thinks they might not even get 10. I hate to admit that I love going there after every loss to see them self-implode. They danced on our grave and it is so satisfying that they are where they are heading into this new world of transfers and NIL. I don't know if they can dig themselves out of this hole.

They are mismanaging their freshman (Freeman) who is regressing since they can't coach defense and not playing him. THey want to fire the coach (former alum) and believe they won't make the ACC tournament (let alone NCAAT). There 3-pt shooting might be the worst of the P5 and they can't play defense. They are a perfect team!

Sadly, UConn might be dependent on joining the ACC to save them from the current economic trends in college athletics. People are foolin themselves if they think the current UConn conference model is sustainable over the next 5 to 10 years..

Other than our game and Georgetown the rest of the league continued to lose non conference games. The BE looks really weak and likely a 2-3 bid conference. Dayton beating us and Marquette is terrible optics as well.

Unfortunately Gtown was the only other BE team that won yesterday
