Big East OOC thread '25/'26

Marquette was up 14 and now down 2 with 5 minutes left. Nigel Pack is killing Marquette. Remember him from Miami 's Final Four team in 2023 that UConn beat?

This game is there for the taking and Marquette refuses to win it.

Oh boy. Nigel Pack taking over. Marquette about to lose another OOC game against a P4 team.
droopy GIF

Donny doing the PC/FL game.
Would have taken him in a heartbeat over the Smith and Albert (spoiled) Thanksgiving leftovers we had for our game. Great explanation from those guys on what happened with that Malachi Smith shot (not).

Marquette ties game with 3 from Chase Ross with 54 seconds left. Come on Marquette, win for the Big East.

Oklahoma with a dumb foul to put Marq at the line and then a turnover, Marquette gotta cash in and win this

atrocious last possession, had 20 secs left in the halfcourt and the ball never even gets past like 18 feet in

This is the 2nd game Marquette shiiiiitss the bed with their final possession. The game against Dayton, they didn't even get. a shot off at the end of regulation and the game went to OT where Dayton won it.

I keep seeing folks on PC Twitter upset about how English has set Providence "back by years" and how their basketball is ruined.

What do you mean the program has fallen, it was never there to begin with. you're a hockey school. Has PC had some huge success we are unaware of?

Yes. In 1973 and 1987. And I guess you can count 1994 if you really want to.

So it's been nearly 40 years? Looks like their fall off was over two decades ago. Why are the fans complaining now

I don't know if this says more about Lee or Providence's defense, go look at Neoklis Avdalas's(Va Tech) numbers in every game outside of the Providence matchup

Marquette really needed that today. They have Purdue and Wisconsin on their schedule for statement wins before BE play. But Wisconsin is currently getting blown out and Purdue will be…tough. Uphill battle for Marquette to get to selection Sunday

PC is done, today was their last chance. They should be expected to win out the rest of OOC (FDU/URI/Brown) but then they’d need to go 13-7 in the BE to end near the bubble. And I think there’s 0 chance of that

St John’s will turn it around and make the tournament. I’d bet Creighton will too

Watching Georgetown, Seton Hall, and Butler…maybe there’s something there

Right now I’d say a minimum of 2 teams dancing. Absolute best case lucky scenario 5

10 minutes into the first half and Georgetown is sitting on 3 points, they're lucky Miami hasn't run away with it, 16-3.
