Might as well fire Stubblefield now before the Transfer Portal opens.
I like Coach Stubbs and really want to see him succeed but it just hasn't happened yet aside from a few good wins here and there over the course of his tenure. I wonder how much DePaul's struggles have to do with recruiting vs. coaching. I'm not close enough to the program to really know.

I'm going to be watching this Marquette - Kansas game like a UConn game. Top 5 matchup featuring both future opponents, yes please.

.-.
Timeout Self. Marquette up nine 10 minutes in. Marquette killing them in PnR on the roll and back cuts.

Marquette 3/12 from 3 and Kansas 4/6, but Marquette still up 5 mostly thanks to being +5 on turnovers forced.

Really curious to see what adjustments Self can make at half time because KU looks totally flustered by the pressure right now.

The Marquette guards are just dominating this game with their pressure defensively. Reminds me of the BET against us, but Sean Jones and Chase Ross are a year older. 12 turnovers forced in the 1H.

Marquette just pouring it on. Kansas shooting regressing and Marquette still getting to the rim for layups.

Marquette is such fun to watch. Ball movement, energy, and cohesion are evident. They're wiping the smirk off Dickinson's face. Still think they could use one big bruiser to back up Oso and block shots. Beyond that, they have all it all.

Connecticut vs Marquette will be fun! Top of BE is elite.

Pretty easy to go right at Johnny Furphy on D. Timberlake has given them nothing. Kansas depth really glaring as was obvious to anyone with a brain in the offseason (especially post Morris incident).

Wow Marquette's pressure in half court D has Kansas out of sorts. One thing for Hurley to keep on mind is how to defend Gould. He should consider putting Clingan or Johnson on Iguadharo and not on Gould. Gould's 3 pt shooting will pull Clingan /Johnson way from the basket

Feels like KU is really having trouble stopping Marquette’s penetration. Way too many blow-bys.

Oh, and thank the Basketball Gods Timberlake chose Kansas over UConn. Spencer is waaay better than Timberlake
He’s looked not good… blew a fast break layup & all

They don't usually play both Ighodaro and Gold at same time.

That was the thing I was thinking, too. Hopefully Clingan/Johnson don't have to defend against Gould. However they can exploit his weak D

Gold hit a couple 3s over Clingan last season. Johnson should be able to cover him a little better, so just need to make sure we have him subbed in at the right times. Or just have Clingan abuse Gold in the post (he's pretty skinny).

Well 2 potential seeding wins in 2 nights for the Big East. One more for Marquette tomorrow starts to elevate the league to where conference games have a little more impact nationally. And right now it looks like 2 teams in the top 5 assuming Marquette doesn't end up at No 1 after tomorrow. Great week.

And that Dickinson guy didn't impress me much. Engaged guys very aggressively then fell down trying to draw fouls. And when he needed to make a play or a pass just seemed overwhelmed by the pressure. And Bill Self is beside himself.
