Big East OOC 2.0

Hall wins the rock fight.

I've been spoiled by UConn. Offense seriously lacking in the battle for NJ. The trophy for that game is very fitting

79-35 (20-26).

Seton Hall takes care of business against Rutgers.

Home games are for style; road wins, especially against in-state rivals, are for effect.

How many coaches have said something to the effect of "a one point road win is a blowout"?

.-.
I am surprised that Seton Hall scored 45 points with their terrible shot selection. How many contested 25 foot pullups and 1 on 3, out-of-control drives do they need to miss before they realize those are bad shots?

Some people will never learn that the seed isn't as important as how the team is playing.
I submit UConn 2011 and 2014 as Exhibits 1 and 2.
I submit that UConn MUST win a tournament game this year to get off the Schneid … and avoid a disastrous reputation. The easiest way is a very high seed. Nobody on this board will be happy with only one win, but many will be VERY relieved if/when we get it. 1 seeds don’t lose, so let’s hope for as close to that as possible.

Agree not as important, but seed is still VERY important.

Remaining OOC games:

12/12

12/13

St. John's vs. Florida State (in Florida)
Villanova @ St. Joe's

This has nothing to do with hoops but there' really no place to put it. I went over to ESPN to check the Hall/Rutty box score and this was the lead story:

How can you make a mistake like that? How many people are involved in posting the lead story?

Creighton needs that ASU game.
That game and the two DePaul games worry me. St. John's could St. John's it as well against FSU but the Jonnies should be good.

Georgetown is so bad you can't even find a write-up about yesterday's game against orange outside of the Ontario province.
The Washington Post is all-in on World Cup coverage and isn't sending anyone to games right now. The other two dailies (Times, Examiner) dropped sports coverage years ago. And FWIW, the longtime AP college sports writer for the area (Joseph White) died a few years ago and the position has never been filled.

Of course, averaging an announced 4,404 a game (net of the "free tickets for everyone" opener) doesn't help either.
