Revenue sharing is supposed to help the BE teams in particular isn’t it (don’t have to share with football etc etc). Need that to get up and running
I was thinking about that also. We read all these articles saying the Big East men's basketball teams had more to spend than the P4 conference teams that had football. So how does that impact winning? This is the first year and it wasn't passed until a few months ago so maybe it will take a little longer to impact winning. We'll see how the next few years go.

Maybe - but we also know a kid like Toure chose Arkansas over PC for less money. I don’t think it’s all about the money. It should start with a new commissioner.

I’ve been saying for a bit now the league was trending towards looking more like the Atlantic 10.

Money helps but I agree it isn't everything. Maybe the Big East coaches need to start buying Bentleys. 😂

We’ll be a top 5 program for as long as Hurley is here even if it does turn into the A10 but Worried he’ll retire before we can get that golden ticket to a P4.

Yeah we haven't had a full rev share only offseason yet. Also what these articles missed is that the big east has the potential to outspend, but in most cases the teams don't actually have the cash to do so. And 1 of the teams that does is only spending in house on mediocre players.

KJ Lewis took over for Gtown against Clemson with 17 in the second half. big win for the BE hopefully Clemson ends up being the 4th best team in the ACC.

Idk why cooley doesn’t start iwuchukwu over the giant stiff from the Middle East

Georgetown is 4-0 with two wins over power conference teams, they play good defense and look like a tournament team. People actually showed up to watch the game in DC, things are looking up for the Hoyas.

Yeah last few years (particularly the two title years when Georgetown was extra dreadful), the UConn games down here have been like 70/30 UConn fans. I bet Georgetown gets a little better of a home presence this season.

Thankfully the Hoyas aren't the dumpster fire they've been in recent years. We've run out of extinguishers for the Big East.

I agree look at the Women’s team. It is basically the A10 but the women keep winning championships.

Refs taking over the SMU/Butler game. Not sure what SMU has to do to get called for a foul, but they have not done it in the second half despite very physical play. SMU will win by 15+ unless there is a 180 on officiating.

Edit: SMU player just took 4 steps on a layup. What coach wouldn’t lose their stuff there? Hurley would be inches from his second T if his team was getting jobbed like this. Matta is a bump on a log.

Oh God that fall from Payne after the dunk. I feel so bad for that kid, that looked horrible. You could hear him screaming on the broadcast.

I saw it, but too. You could hear the screaming in agony on TV. My heart just sank when I saw that. Prayers to him for a speedy recovery.
A human leg should not bend in that direction.

All the Big East schools should play Maryland. It would improve Big East record against P4.
Sorry I spoke to soon. Marquette is not very good. You have UConn, St John’s then a significant drop off to Georgetown then a jump off a cliff for the rest of the league.

They don't seem to have much trouble with Marquette. Marquette needs to have a sit down with Shaka.

I think 4 bids for the BE is still realistic which would be fine actually. UConn and SJU are locks.

Creighton needs to beat Baylor and ISU.

Think the fourth goes to either Gtown or Nova. Idk about the MTEs but Gtown only has one big OOC left on the schedule against UNC. Not a tough OOC schedule so they’ll need to finish top 3-4 in the BE.

Nova has a close loss to BYU but opportunities for big wins over Michigan and Wisconsin so their path is clearer but they also can’t have any crippling loses to the BE bottom dwellers DePaul and Xavier etc.

I hope these 5 teams separate themselves and don’t get dragged down by the bottom half of the conference.

Not seeing Creighton. Looked slow and nonathletic against Gonzaga.

Why is Smart so anti-portal when the best player he's had during his Marquette tenure came from there? Different circumstances since he was a new hire and had to get some transfers but it doesn't make sense not try to bring in 1-2 transfer players to plug holes and enhance the roster with how much he's lost to the NBA the past few seasons.

If I were Marquette booster I’d say my NIL deals only go to transfers lol

Not many opportunities for upsets when UConn and SJU might be the only quad 1 wins in the conference. We’ll see how Creighton responds after the blowout to the zags.

Revenue sharing is only an advantage if you have the revenue to begin with

Creighton will be better with time, new pieces at key positions and Gonzaga is the oldest team in the county, three NBA teams have a younger roster than them, and they rarely lose in the state of Washington. I’ll give Creighton a pass on this one. They will be much better by year end.

Much better but still will be slow. They will be a bubble team to make NCAA tournament.
