Doesn’t feel like Cooley has moved the needle in his third year. Pulling a coach from a conference foe is looking more and more like egg on the face.

They were above .500 last year for just the 2nd time in 10 years. So there was slow progression up. But not sure “slow progression” is acceptable in the “you can turn everything around in 1 offseason” era

Especially at that paycheck

No, it’s not. There are plenty of cases where excellent new coaches are moving to strong brand programs that were broken and having success quickly. Year 3 for him and they have yet another BE bottom dweller is officially disappointing.

Yes but see Patrick Ewing took the cupboard with him, or something

Good seats now available at Capital One Arena.
Wtf is up with the pricing at Capital One? Even the cheap seats refuse to drop below $50 for the Jan 17 game. I know the arena will be half empty and I don't understand it.

Just going to wait until day of to buy if I have to

This is pissing me off, too.

Last year I waited until day of and managed to buy some incredible tickets, tho. $110 each for the fourth row right on mid court. It was the first row of “actual seating” right behind the hockey barrier and the temporary seats they put up. Probably going to try that strategy again.

Creighton starting to do annoying Creighton things now that we’re playing conference games.

Some of these schools need to realize that playing like crap before conference play begins, then kicking it up s couple notches in conference games isn't the best approach.

Not to be missed, but Marquette gets it's first (and maybe only) win at home, by 1, against second worst BE team Xavier.

Wait, I was told 3 weeks ago from our resident Big East expert that Xavier was an NCAA Tournament team. So now they're not?

Bought three 1st level tickets for $95 each on the primary market in October (Hoyas Men's Basketball Tickets | MY HOYAS Account), so fees were low. Georgetown sent out an email today that the game is sold out, and they aren’t offering there, so secondary is the only way to go.

Combing through old posts to catch me saying something that didn't happen? So you are that guy. Good to know.

Creighton is annoying but they are quietly improving their tourney chances with these wins. No bad losses but have to fix that ugly 1-5 Q1 record.

Villanova will be fine, consensus has them at a 6 seed so a high-end Q2 loss shouldn’t hurt too much. That said, I would rather them not drop these kind of games so that we have an extra Q1 home opportunity.

Seton Hall and Creighton would be better off as 11 seeds than 8, 9 or 10 seeds this year. The difference between 6 and 7 seeds looks like it will be very slim, and there will be some movement on those two lines to avoid conference teams from playing each other in the second round. If they make the second round, SHU has a shot at beating a 3 seed if things break right. Creighton is playing well against Big East teams, but the team just seems too slow to beat anyone really good. We will see.

Butler is on track for 18 or 19 total wins, which won't be good enough for them to get a bid.

FWIW, Lunardi has 5 Big East teams in as of this morning. Creighton is the last team in. No mention of Butler.

UConn (1)
Villanova (7)
Seton Hall (8)
St. Johns (8)
Creighton (Play In)
