Pops gets the win against son as St John’s beats Xavier

Wasn’t watching until the last few minutes but looks like SJU had a big comeback. 16 point 2nd half deficit

2nd game in a row with a big 2nd half comeback, gonna be tough to beat them in league because that pressure ratches up, refs don't call anything and teams crumble

barring a miracle turnaround I don't know how you can bring English back, looking at Nova and Providence's roster and there's no way you can tell me that Nova's is more talented, but look at the results
Crazy the Nova backcourt was 1-21 from the field and we went to OT with them.

Too bad Xavier couldn't pull that one out, we could have used some breathing room. I'm not nearly as confident with some of these upcoming road games as I once was.

Seton Hall was ranked 2 weeks ago and now they’re getting smoked by DePaul. Down 14 with 7 and a half left

That at large window is closing very quickly

Yup - the tape is out. They're starting to fade. Right now the only locks are Uconn, Stj and Nova as I see it. I feel like one more team can play themselves in, between SHU and Creighton.

Seton Hall has pretty much smoked all their non-conference momentum and work away, Shaheen will have to do the annual roster tunover and replace a good deal of the roster again since so many of them are 4th and 5th year guys. Hopefully they can afford to retain Hines because I'm sure he will get offered a bag.

38%?

Our guy Zanetto suggesting we are playing like "dogsh$t". Lol.

In response to your comment/post. Their three point shooting kept them in the game/close-- Forcing OT. Despite their poor 2 pt shooting % from the guards.

Not much to say about Seton Hall losing to Depaul. That is a brutal loss.
And it didn't surprise me either. DePaul has some athleticism and can match Seton Hall's physicality. DePaul won't threaten to win the Big East tournament, Big East regular season, or make the NCAAT, but they are on the right track with Chris Holtsmann. DePaul is going to be a pain in the ass for future Big East opponents.

Where the conference teams sit at the moment in terms of qualifying for the tournament

Group one - In, unless they intentionally sabotage the remainder of the season:
UConn

Group two - In, but a run similar to Seton Hall's past two weeks could put them on the bubble:
St. John's
Villanova

Group three - Winning Big East Tournament is only realistic path to tournament, miracle run in final eleven games may elevate them to at-large bids:
Creighton
Seton Hall

Group four - Winning Big East Tournament is only possible path to tournament:
Butler
DePaul
Xavier
Georgetown
Providence
Marquette

Seton Hall is 5-6 in first 2 quads with no bad losses, low 50s in the analytics, and currently projected in the field by BracketMatrix (though that may change on Monday). They don't need a miracle run. They do need to turn it on a bit. But 7-4 probably gets them in and KenPom has them favorites in 6 of the remaining 11 games.

How does a loss at home to DePaul avoid "bad loss" status?

Down the stretch, 7-4 may be beyond their reach, five, maybe six wins appears to be a realistic ceiling. Regardless, time will tell if they do or do not land in the dance.

Because it was at DePaul.
