Big East January '26 Thread - Take Two

Jones going early there after the press break worked out well for Prov this time
He knows only one speed and that is pedal to the medal and balls to wall.

The foul call on Blake Harper when it looked like a clean strip was big.

I don't think this game was a killer for Creighton's at-large hopes by itself, but it is indicative that Creighton is probably not going to win enough games to get a bid.

I know people wanna jump on English but a lot of that last minute was on the players. their bball iq is so low doing things that coaches shouldn’t need tons say. I mean players gotta know the situation and play accordingly.
Those Friars made some stupid plays at the end. I hope it wasn't points shaving.

LMFAO, DePaul 's attendance blows away Georgetown's attendance. And yes, I know some of these folks are from Marquette as Milwaukee is about 90 miles away. But I don't think Georgetown's top 3 home games equals what DePaul has right now.

Providence giving a master class on how not to finish out the last 3-4min of games.

Just horrible BBIQ by the players and coaching

Creighton's tournament hopes are gone, shy of winning the BET.

Halfway through January, seven schools are done, four are on track to dance.

Marq taking sole posession of last place. Poor Shaka.
Poor nothing. FWIW, I think his in game coaching strategy is very good, but his roster building strategy is straight aaa ssss ss. I understand his thought process about building a tight knit bunch and promising not to recruit over them in the transfer portal, but in order to implement that he needs to consistently get 2 top 70 high school recruits every season and he isn't doing that.

He should be embarrassed by the product he has put on the floor this season.

I fully agree - part of today's H1 recruiting world is recognizing your HS misses and fixing in the portal. You have literally no chance not using the portal this day and age. Hurley would never have a playable PG if he relied on HS recruiting.

The PG position for UConn is kind of like the WR position for the Patriots. Let someone else test drive them.

interrupt this program with some not necessarily key info. I saw it on some other message boards
Dayton and Saint Louis want in

Their margin for error was pretty small after their non conference, and it's difficult on the road. They have 3 more Ls on their schedule for sure, which puts them at 14-6. If they go 13-7 I don't think they get in.
