If nine rando relatively in-shape BYers show up on a court for a pickup game with Ashworth in a disguise, Ashworth probably gets picked 5th or 6th at best. There is nothing about the guy that says, "I'm going to light you up." Looks like a tax preparer.
He's tiny, he looks like a horse jockey out there and then you see him flying around past everyone and constantly banging threes. Dude is such a good player and college basketball has never seen a ft shooter like him.

Butler was up 1 with 2 fouls to give when PC got the ball with around 7 seconds left. I am fine giving the first foul, but I would rather use it to play aggressive defense then just give it away to run a second off the clock. Thoughts?

Will be Nice to have a 4th ranked BE team next week at least. Let’s beat a ranked Creighton on the road for the first time under Hurley. The first of 8 straight wins to end the season.

I don’t expect UConn to be ranked on Monday.

It'll be tight as Clemson will definitely be ranked, maybe Creighton too. But Illinois and St. Mary's went 1-1 last week, Maryland lost to tOSU, and who knows how much KU's beatdown at Kansas St. will hurt them. No idea if Louisville beating two scrubs matters.

I think we're still in at 23 or 24.

Clemson may be ranked, although the loss to Georgia Tech is a bit of a buzzkill. 5 to 7 loss teams are in the very fat part of the curve right now. It is hard to predict who gets the last 10 spots of the Top 25.

We’ll be ranked. Loss to Creighton would knock us out.

Fairly incredible that STJ has 6 of the 10 most efficient defensive players in the BE.

We have 7 losses. Duke has what? 2?
It’s still 1 game we’re talking about. You can take Duke out of the discussion. Dropping 7+ spots for losing by 4 or whatever to a top 12 team is harsh. We didn’t lose to seton hall

I agree. Duke is just a bad comparison right now

Duke does not matter to us. There is ONE seven loss team in this week's ranking, Illinois, and they are definitely dropping out after losing to Rutgers. With Kentucky and Kansas losing, UConn has some more company, and Kansas' loss was pretty bad. It would help if Maryland lost today to Rutger on the back of their loss to Ohio State.

Illinois is the only Top 25 team behind UConn that lost a game this week. Arizona had 2 good wins this week, so they are jumping UConn. Any Big 10/Big 12/SEC/Big East team with 6 or fewer losses is going to be ahead of UConn. That means Creighton and UCLA are definitely jumping UConn. Louisville beat two bad teams and Clemson lost at home to Georgia Tech, so they are not locks to jump UConn, but both have a shot.

It will be close, but my gut feel is that UConn is one of the top "also receiving votes" teams.

This is a ton of thought being put into an AP ranking. Rarely does 1 loss to a top 12 team drop you more than 6 spots. We’ve already seen the voters pay respect to us previously as well. Bigger fish to fry. Honestly for this team anything that gives them a kick in the @ss will help, I’m for dropping out and seeing if it lights some kind of fire over clinging to a fairly insignificant subjective ranking.

It is not that much work to count the teams in the major conferences (less the ACC) that have fewer losses. Historically, at this point in the season, the writers are basically going off W/L records with some adjustments for teams that played particularly challenging or particularly easy schedules.

It would help UConn on several levels if Xavier won out. It would be nice to have another Top 40 win for UConn.

AP voters are very short sighted. I doubt someone who ranked UConn #19 last week is going to re-evaluate the entire season and retroactively apply what happened in weeks 1-13 to their rating in week 15. They’ll see road W vs #11 and home L to #12

#20 Arizona will jump us
#21 Wisconsin will probably jump us
#22 Mississippi St and #23 Illinois went 1-1, where both their Ws and Ls were worse than ours. They’re not jumping us
#24 Michigan will probably jump us
#25 Ole Miss will jump but they’re pretty far behind us. They beat Kentucky who is worse than Marquette and St John’s and barely beat LSU. It’ll be close

Clemson is coming in, but they lost at home to Georgia Tech this week. Creighton will get in too

I’d guess #21-23

EDIT: I'm dumb and thought Marquette was this week. 0-1 instead of 1-1 changes everything so I have no idea where we're ending up :)

Xavier over Nova is the better result for the BE. It Could put them on the right side of the bubble and Neptune needs to go.

5 tourney teams would be a success for this season.

100% - this one and next @PC are huge for them. Both against mid teams that are really beatable but can be tricky in their house. Need both of them.

Nova should be flipping through their Rolodex if they haven’t and begin short listing. Their next big event is landing the right coach. That little Neptune run of hope lasted a hot second. Since their win against us they’re 2-5 with wins against PC and DePaul.

  • If the voters truly beleive that St John's is worthy of whatever ranking they give them in tomorrow's poll, they cannot punish us all that much for losing (what was basically) a one possession game to the.
  • We will drive ourselves nuts if we spend too much time and/or energy worrying about where we are ranked. When all is said and done we will achieve from this season what we deserve, no more, no less.
  • For the record, the road win against Marquette happened prior to last Monday's poll. I don't think we can get credit for that game twice.

Crazy graphic they put on the screen. Xavier is 1-7 in Quad 1 games, and this is the last Q1 game currently on their schedule. They NEED this game

Their win against us at Cintas is Q2 (Q1 is top 30, and we're 33). That hurts lol
