Big East February '26 Thread

Creighton going to have to win at least 2 games in BE tourney to be NIT eligible. They really have been on a skid.

UConn’s wins over Providence should get a Quad bump to 1 & 2.
 
I kind of think Creighton emptied their tank for the remainder of the season when they beat us.
 
If there was an English Premier League in season transfer window, I would love to acquire Jaylin Sellers. He has skills that most players on UConn don't have, mainly dribble drive creation. Only Silas really does that for UConn.

Providence has 4 guys on their team who can score 25 points and they have a rim protector. It's crazy how little Kim English got out of this group this season.

Really hope that's not McDermott's final home game at Creighton.

He’s a great coach but I won’t be too upset
 
That last second 3 pt attempt by Creighton's Dix, was a travel and the refs swallow. My god BE refs are not awful, they are intentionally bad.
 
Providence problem all season has been the mental part of the game. A coach can only do so much but it seems Providence has a bunch of basketball idiots on their team.

So if UConn/SJU end up tied at 18-2 and Creighton/PC end up tied at 9-11, does that mean it comes down to NET ranking? I'm looking at the latest tie-breaker guidelines that I could find (2025).

DePaul does control their destiny, but has 3 games in 7 days, @Marquette, vs Nova and Butler. PC gets Marquette @home and GTown on the road. If DePaul doesn't win out and PC does, PC has the tiebreaker.

Bruce Pearl picked Florida too but he at least usually has some nice things to say about UConn. This entire season Mashburn has been dogging UConn.

Providence has some dudes. Their talent isn't the question. As far as talent goes they are as talented as anyone in the Big East. They just lack cohesion, especially on the defensive end.

I hope this is not the end for McDermott. He cannot go out with a season like this.

If PC and Creighton end up tied, PC gets the tiebreaker because they swept Creighton. This means if UConn and St. John's end up tied, UConn will get #1 in the BET.
 
Who's here to talk about this upcoming game? Also, I've never asked this...why dont we join the chat for other games besides ours? Isn't it easier than doing this?

Is the chat only active for our games?

PC needs one win in last two, Creighton needs to lose to Butler. I'd say odds are strong this happens. We get the 1 seed in BET.

Honestly in terms of how it's played out, not sure the Hall isn't as tough of a challenge as Nova anyway.

They're flavor of the week right now. You can pick them for whatever you want, they're not getting a 1 seed over us.
