Maybe, but they’re probably easily the worst 11th place team in any of the power conferencesCouls Providence be the best last place conference team in the Country?
Providence and Butler to OT.Providence up with 1 with 50 seconds. Jaylin Sellers with a 3 out of a timeout.
Going to OT.... Butler kid 12/12 from the line for the night, misses 2 at the end.Providence up with 1 with 50 seconds. Jaylin Sellers with a 3 out of a timeout.
That win keeps aging like fine wineIllini with 9 threes already.
2nd OT.Providence and Butler to OT.
Neither team is good enough to beat the other!
I thought Sellers was going to win that, but he was going full speed and shot it with his off hand.Butler/PC into Double OT, second time this season lol
Butler and Creighton were already well out of the tournament picture before tonight.Worst set of outcomes possible for the league tonight in terms of bids/seeding.
Seton Hall played well enough against Nova to win, but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 3. They must have missed at least 4 wide open looks and 6 or more open shots from downtown. They end up losing by 12.
Butler should have beaten Providence, but as noted above missed free throws in both regulation and OT and got trounced in double OT. They'll be trending towards falling out of the top 75 (will probably be 68-70 when it updates tomorrow if I had to guess)
Creighton loses @ Georgetown, instead of picking up a Q2 win and moving more safely within the top 75, they'll probably drop to around NET #80.
That's not surprising. They're 311th in three point shooting percentage this season. For comparison, posters have been complaining about UConn's three point shooting and they're 55th. Imagine if Ball was shooting even close to what he did last season? They'd probably be top 15.Seton Hall played well enough against Nova to win, but couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from 3. Wasn't trying to say Butler and Creighton had a shot at the tourney, that's why I said bids/seeding. I was saying I want both within the top 75 so they are Q1 road wins and Q2 home wins. The losses last night hurt both teams' chances of finishing there (although I do think Butler will ultimately finish in the top 75.)Butler and Creighton were already well out of the tournament picture before tonight.
Nova is just a lot better than Seton Hall and the Pirates had no chance of winning that game.
I realize they're a bad shooting team, atrociously bad. But they had guys who combined average around 36-37% from deep go a combined 1-13. If they just shot to their average it would have been a close game. That's not surprising. They're 311th in three point shooting percentage this season. I think the idea is it's bad for us. Our in-league wins are doing less and less for us resume wiseButler and Creighton were already well out of the tournament picture before tonight.

We still get St. John's 2x, Nova on the road, and Seton Hall at home. That is four of our remaining eight games.I think the idea is it's bad for us. Our in-league wins are doing less and less for us resume wise
