I was just looking at the boxscore and Xavier had 27 fouls called on them. Georgetown shot 43 free throws but lost because they only made 25 of them (58%). And KJ lewis was 9-9 so the rest of the team was 16-34 (47%). Yikes.

.-.
Don’t look now but Creighton has absolutely slaughtered Xavier and MU in their first two BE games. Butler, Seton Hall, and Nova next. They could make a strong statement soon despite a really bad OOC showing

GTown was looking really good. 5-0 with two solid wins against UMD and Clemson. Then it all fell apart. They’ll be fighting an uphill battle the rest of the year. Sad

The statement would be that the BE is even worse than we thought.

They’ve fell off ever since Vince got hurt. They now don’t have a formidable backup center and he played better than Julius at times.

Hes a super underrated loss for them.

Creighton also moved from 112 to 79 in the NET.

By rolling a bad Marquette team at home? I'm not a metrics guy to begin with, but I understand the AD's on the selection committee love this stuff, especially when it serves them well. They become contortionists when they have to

But, I'm not going to pretend I understand a 33 spot move based on a blowout of a weak team at home. We can seemingly drop a few spots doing such. Evidently meaning we're not as good after the blowout than we were before the blowout. Yep, it all makes sense now ☺️

Anyhow, I;m happy for Creighton, I knew McDermott would figure things out. Wish it happened a little sooner, but it's going to happen

As far as the legendary Ed Cooley, the man has won 3 tournament games in his long career, even advanced to the Sweet 16 ONCE. I want Georgetown to do better, but he's a tad bit overrated

.-.
This is Georgetown’s chance to fire him for cause and avoid any buyout payment. Unfortunately, Georgetown has stopped caring about the program since the 1980s.
Wondering if A.I. Val will spring to life on this one.

Cooley makes around 6 million per season. They cared enough to pay him that but it sure seems like someone else making that kind of money would do a significantly better job.

I said it from the day Georgetown hired him, why did they go after Cooley so hard? What did he do at PC that was worth offering him $6 million a year? Georgetown could have gone after some up and coming mid-major guy who could coach and spent a lot less. And won, instead of Cooley's garbage.

Wow, half empty seats and he finds a way to hit someone. When it rains it pours.
Well, in fairness to Cooley he was showing he supported and had his players’ back. The Georgetown players, outside of KJ Lewis, made under 50% of their FTs (14-32). Cooley simply said “don’t worry, hold my beer”.

Throwing a water bottle into the stands is having his players' backs? I guess I am misunderstanding what you posted.

Solidarity lol. He missed his target (presumably the 14th row) just as badly as his players were missing FTs

Someone who gets it.

LOL, I wasn't being serious-I was joking and being sarcastic. In no way was I supporting what Ed Cooley did.

Ole Miss win probably won't be worth much to St Johns by the end of the season with the way they look today vs NC State. On the flipside if this blowout holds that should help Seton Hall
