Xavier is really imploding. 3-8 over their last 11 games.

Xavier's tournament assurance was based on its metrics, but those are going to tank today with this 15+ loss at home. They're going to need to win a few more games, maybe both @SJU and home GTown and then at least 1, maybe 2 games in BET.
I don't think it's going to happen for them, they're playing on fumes. Not a good team right now.

Hall is dancing, Xavier has work to do. Hall struggled without Aiken but has now righted the ship. Xavier is in full collapse mode again losing 6 out of 7. It's starting to look like Steele may miss the tournament again. He's recruiting really well but there's a pattern here of them falling apart at the end of the year. Xavier expects to go to the tournament every season and it looks like Steele still may not pop his tournament cherry.
This is at least two years in a row of Xavier starting out ranked around #20, NCAAT locks, and then falling apart. Steele will definitely be on the hot seat if they miss out.

Hall had a bad lull but even without Aiken they have a lot of nice pieces. Wouldn’t shock me for them to make a sweet 16 run with the right draw. They’d be worlds better if Obiagu played like he actually liked basketball.

Xavier needs two wins to get in. If they win the next two they will be fine.

If they lose to Johnnies it's a Q1 loss. If they lose to GTown, it's over.

They've got the 8 seed in BET locked up, but could possibly move to 7, but unlikely. So assuming they beat GTown, they've got to beat Butler in BET. Given the bubble, I'd think that would earn them a play-in game. If they beat SJU in Queens, they're in, no question.

AJ Reeves stats kind of stink but he's in the zone lately. If he can shoot threes like this it makes Providence a totally different team. It's similar to how different we are when Polley is making shots.

They fell 12 spots in KenPom from 35-47. When NET comes out tomorrow it will be goodbye Q1 win for UConn.

yup, Xavier down from 25 to 35 in NET. Seton Hall only rose from 38 to 32 so we lost a Q1 win.

UConn now 4-6 in Q1 with 4 teams on the wrong side of the Q1/Q2 line:

32 Seton Hall
35 Xavier
36 Marquette
54 VCU

WVU barely hanging on at 74... could become a Q2 loss.

This is likely why the team sheets further break it down to top/bottom of each quad. Doesn’t take much for teams to cross the main quad line in either direction.

DePaul with Freeman-Liberty is a different team. But, after an 11 pt lead, Johnnies press is getting to them. Down to 4 with 4 left.

Johnnies loss could cost us another Q1 win if they lose this. Currently at 73 NET.

Johnnies losing to Depaul is actually kinda brutal for us for NET purposes. They were 73 coming in, so they're likely going to fall out of top 75 so for the time being we're going to lose a Q1 win (the day after Xavier lost us another Q1 win).

And the next game for them is Xavier, which means one of them is going to fall further out of it and with only a couple games left probably not climb back.

We're about to get a 5 seed as the kings of Q2 wins.
