Tagged him on elbow...

What are you saying? Yes he tagged him on the elbow, but before or after the hand hit the bag? I thought the play was a lot closer than the ESPN3 announcers said it was and I'd hate to have to make a call on that one, but I could have seen it go either way.

Sorry - thought he was clearly safe. Third baseman sold it though...

Got it ... at least Penders had just as good a view at it as the ump ... and he certainly didn't hesitate to protest!

Huge... UConn baseball ends Louisville's 16-game winning streak, knocking off the top-seeded Cardinals 3-2 in 12 innings at Big East tournament.

.-.
Huge win for this team. Way to come up big in a big situation.

Great pitching today, both starting from Cross, and relief from Mahaney and Butler. UConn is alive and dancing in the Big East tourney. Have to think Louisville is in shock.

.-.
I missed the 12 inning. How did we get our run?

If memory serves, Yavarone singled, Paul sacrificed him to second, Verdi grounded out with Yavarone holding at second, Ferriter singled, driving in the run.

Thanks, I watched the entire game but earlier in the day promised to take the kids out for ice cream since today was last day of school and after the top of the 11th I said oh well have to go and what a great surprise to come back to. Got back in time to see us slapping each other high fives and was shocked that we had pulled it out.

Funny thing. A lot of times this year while listening to the games I could feel the dread just coming on, feeling something was going to go wrong. Not this game. The feeling was different, one of confidence for the team, especially after UConn tied the game up after falling behind in the 1st inning. I don't recall UConn pitching walking anybody, so no doubt that helped contribute the feeling.

This will get folks attention...

Win by UConn over Louisville ended the longest active winning streak nationally. Cards had won 16 straight. @UConnBaseball @UofLBaseball

UConn's win was the first by a No. 8 seed over a No. 1 seed in the Big East Championship since 2008 (Villanova over St. John's).

Ferriter two out single to center to score Yavarone from second.

USF beats Rutgers 5-2 -- Chad Taylor gets pop out to end game with tying run at plate. USF plays UConn on Thursday at 8 p.m. (or so) ...

Awesome pitching performance by Cross. You guys deserved that ballgame in every way. Nicely played and good luck going forward!

Cool I should be able to watch the USF game tonight.

Maybe my mind is playing tricks on me, but I thought Chris Jones said Daniello was headed for a team out in Wisconsin before the injury occurred.
You are probably right. I was just guessing on the NE collegiate league, for Danello, as many UConn players, not ready for the Cape league go there.
There is also the Atlantic league (NY & NJ) where a few UConn players go. Also that league in the midwest, which you refer to. Last year Marzi & Verdi played for a team in Wisc.

Top three seeds in the @BigEastConf Baseball Championship have either been eliminated or have one loss. USF vs Connecticut up next on ESPN3.

2045 first pitch... A win tonight would be huge.

.-.
The game tonight is big. UConn doesn't have really deep pitching depth especially with the starters. A win tonight means no game tomorrow, meaning one less game they need to find a starting pitcher for.

1- 0 USF going to the bottom of the 1st.

Run scores on Sac Fly to center
