So your argument is that because Marquette is not getting into the Tournament and UConn is, Marquette should play more games and UConn less?

Logic is not your strong suit.
Yes that's exactly my argument, there's no upside to UConn playing more games. Marquette has nothing to lose by adding more games, especially when their window is 9 days to schedule games and UConn's is 3

So you are saying that UConn should win fewer games because that will give it a stronger tournament resume. Got it.

Exactly, and I know everyone won't agree with that which is fine. UConn can make the NCAA tournament with the games on our schedule, and that's all I care about

Let's get in with a 9 seed and see where that takes us.

UConn should be scheduling games with bubble teams if they want to control their destiny. A UNC game would be the perfect opportunity to improve the quad 1/2 profile while knocking off a competitor for the last few slots. There are 20 or so teams in similar situation as us ... ADD should start there.

They have no room on the schedule for more games. It seems silly to wedge a game in two days apart when your best player is not in game shape to go beyond 30 minutes when games currently are 3-5 days apart.

As far as today's bubble watch before UConn at Georgetown at 9:00 PM:

  • Richmond (KenPom 59) plays UMass at 6 on ESPN+
    • a loss and RU is done
  • Saint Louis (KenPom 52) plays VCU at 6 (KenPom 46) on CBSSN
    • This is the bubble game of the day to watch out for
    • a loss for SLU and they are done, a loss for VCU and they come back to the bubble
  • Louisville (KenPom 51) plays Notre Dame at 7 on ACCN
    • A loss for Louisville has to bring them back to the bubble after the 40 point thumping they took from UNC
  • St. John's (KenPom 68 ) plays Villanova at 8 on CBSSN
    • SJU is probably already done after the DePaul loss, but if they were to beat Nova again maybe they have a chance to get back on the bubble
  • Penn State (KenPom 34) plays Nebraska at 8 on BTN
    • The KenPom number compared to their record is something to behold especially given offseason turmoil. I don't think they can get in with a losing record but something to keep an eye on as far the bubble goes
  • Ole Miss (KenPom 60) plays #24 Missouri at 9 on SEC
    • Ole Miss probably already done after losing to MSU a couple days ago but beating a good Mizzou team may get them back in the conversation

VCU without Bones for the rest of the regular season at least. I don't think they can win this one without them, they'll likely fall off the bubble. Im hoping UMass can beat St. Louis and bumb them off the bubble too.

#262 in consistency in the country

That actually isn't as bad as it should be, probably because they also play in the Big 10 so their losses are mostly tourney teams (Seton Hall, Michigan, Illinois x2 , Purdue, Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Iowa) plus bad losses to Nebraska and Michigan State + a loss to bubble Indiana.

They've clearly established they can't beat the best of the best in CBB so no shame in that but do have some wins against decent teams like VT and Wisconsin.

In a normal season they probably make the tourney with a 17-13 record thanks to the padding of cupcakes, but unfortunately they'll have a losing record unless they get hot in the B10 tourney

He's out today, but injury isn't as bad as originally thought. He's day-to-day.

I got Saint Louis at -1.5 last night before it bumped to -3.

For what seems like at least the 4th game in a row, Lunardi says win and we're in the field

No disrespect to CSU, but they do not deserve to be ahead of UConn and most brackets accurately reflect that.

Yes they are 14-4, but they have not played since February 6 and their next game is not until February 27 where they will be playing back to back games against cupcake Air Force.

Their only wins of note for the season are splitting a series with bubble Utah State, splitting a series with bubble Boise State, and splitting a series with NCAA tourney team SDSU. Their worst loss of the season is just as bad as UConn's (Providence KP 78, St. Mary's KP 79) both of which came on the road, while the better win goes to UConn that beat a better USC team than SDSU.

Then add the fact that UConn played half a season without its best player. Shouldn't even be a comparison of the two.

UConn 35 in KenPom. CSU 66.

UConn 31 in BPI. CSU 76.

Can you please put that in an email to the selection committee? Just in case they overlook this ?

Big Ten is wildly overrated.
The top 4 in the Big Ten are very good and they are dragging the rankings of the rest of the league with them.

I hope the committee uses common sense and doesn't select 10 Big Ten teams.

If they do, 7 or 8 of them will get bounced in the first or second round. Michigan and OSU look decent but outside of them I’m not overly impressed. Illinois has looked good in stretches but not consistent

Honestly if we don’t sweep Georgetown, beat Marquette, and beat Seton Hall we don’t deserve to be in the tournament.

This team has had a lot of chances to win games.
We can go 3-1 rest of way and be prolly good but wud most likely need a win in BET

VCU beats St. Louis. Does this finish St. Louis @Storrs South?

Was watching the VCU game, if we get anything near that officiating tonight I’ll be shopping for a new TV...

French gets called for his 5th foul with a minute change left for tapping a guys back as he grabs a rebound on the floor. Barely touched...

VCU hits the game winning FTs off a 2 second late whistle as St. Louis is bringing the ball the other way.
