Big 12 or Bust

The appeal of college football is underdogs, regional pride, unpredictable runs, and the outsider crashing the party. College football is special because every season leaves room for chaos
Of course, the appeal of college football was also the student athlete myth, regional rivalries, watching kids develop for four years and watching relatively few high value bowl games. The powers that be have managed to gut all of those things. I have zero confidence that they won't continue to undermine the few compelling things that are left in the pursuit of profit.

A professional product that locks out a huge percentage of its participants and fans with inferior athletes to the NFL and NBA? Hard pass. I understand that the P2 wants to use its leverage in the existing system just like the Dodgers do, but to separate and change the fanbase and sport completely is a huge risk. So many fans won’t be coming along.

Good analogy with the Dodgers, cheating the system by deferring payroll

As a Dodgers fan, that's just not true. Salary deferral is part of player union agreement with the owners. If teams dont like the rules, they should change it.

Shohei Ohtani is able to defer because he doesn't need the money. The guy gets over $100M endowment money per year, and is by far the highest by a long mile among all the MLB players.

My only wish is he is an Uconn alum but he isn't 😭

Hopefully you get the Bobby Bonilla impact for circumventing the intent of the salary cap
