BIG 12 25-26

Very happy for the season that both the Kitties had and what a remarkable turnaround Molly created.

I know our resident AZ fan does not like U of A but the vibe is so much more positive than under the prior regime. Her arrogance will not be missed.
In state rivalry. I believe I've detected some of that on the board of fans of other conferences.

The rivalry did bring a little extra spice to the game for those who watched

Does BYU get to dance by virtue of their sweep over the Devils?

If so I get it. I don't like it but I get it.

Molly Miller might have been a more appropriate choice
Why? Texas Tech had a better season in every measurable way, it's not debatable. Both were bad last year. Maybe Arizona St. was worse, but both were very much improved this season.

How about beating Utah THREE times this season?

OMG 77-68

Do you believe!!!!!!!

Devils defeat Cyclones, get the coveted Q1 and

WE DANCE

ASU lead the entire game

ASU outrebounded ISU

ASU DEFENSE, DEFENSE, DEFENSE

ASU shows heart, character and wins

Molly Miller leads the Devils to the BIG DANCE!!!!!

Molly may not be COY but she is still coaching with her team in the tourney and will be in the quarters.

HOW BOUT THOSE DEVILS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wanted to let you know they are making decaffeinated tea these days. 😉

What has happened to Iowa State?

Soft. They could have won today if they had "womaned up" and played hard like big gals but they spent the first half whining and complaining as they are wont to do when things don't go their way right away. That especially applies to Crooks and Brown. Per Brown she has not committed a foul in three years of Div 1 play. And Crooks acted like the Wolverine had turned his claws on her half a dozen times in the first half, she's alway grabbing at her face and crying when the replay doesn't show much of anything a regular post doesn't have happen to them. At least she stopped with the flopping, the cry face and acting hurt in the 2nd half and played ball.

I remember earlier in the season when Iowa state was undefeated and Crooks looked unstoppable.

Well, we played a soft as Charmin tissue NC schedule with the exception of Iowa. The Iowa win, even if at home for the Cyclones, is their best win by far. Their only other notable win was over Texas Tech who is also soft and probably quite overrated.

Tonight we started two 1st team Big 12 players and had another starter, Brown, who was a preseason 1st team coaches selection. Team, and coach, have way underperformed even when you factor in injures.

Bill Fennelly seems to have simply disappeared as a coach.

First comment I've seen from a player to go with the numerous other comments regarding the LED floor being slippery. Best sideline report was an OSU playing overheard saying "This floor sucks!".

I'm a bit concerned that when they host the men next that the increased speed and quickness of the MBB players is going to get someone hurt.

Thanks for sharing this as I've been curious as to how players feel about this court. It was introduced in FIBA competition a few years ago, but they've used it sparingly. Apparently, it's going to be used during the FIBA 2026 women's qualifiers in Turkey this month.

What a load of hooey. They used it for the entire women's tournament. The men's side should suck it up and deal with it.

Agree with your first two sentences. Third sentence should be: the Conferences need to stop treating their women's teams like ugly red headed step children.

No one should have to play on floors that are slick and dangerous, but it's ludicrous the concern only registers once a star men's player goes down.

I had a couple other sentences in mind but they weren't suitable for posting. And as an aunt of twin red head nieces............I've stopped using this phrase. 😉

I'm a borderline ginger myself so I feel like I have just enough privilege to get away with it. ;)

I am glad they got it swapped out. A number of bad slips happened during the ISU/TT game and a couple TT players left the game. Still, I am actually a bit surprised since corporate level response are usually full on deny and deflect before taking action. It was only going to get worse in the men's play with a step up in speed and quickness. They should have seen that coming.

Well, this sucks for ASU. At least they don't have a bunch of players get sick to.

The Big 12 lacked star power this season but at least got a couple of players named to All-American teams. AP had Crooks and Miles on their 2nd team.

Second Team

Hannah Hidalgo, Notre Dame, Junior; Merchantville, New Jersey: 25.2 points, 6.4 rebounds, 5.3 assists 48.1 field goal%

Joyce Edwards, South Carolina, Sophomore; Camden, South Carolina: 19.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 58.7 field goal%

Olivia Miles, TCU, Senior; Phillipsburg, New Jersey: 19.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, 6.4 assists

Audi Crooks, Iowa State, Junior; Algona, Iowa: 25.5 points, 7.8 rebounds, 64.7 field goal%

Jaloni Cambridge, Ohio State, Sophomore; Nashville, Tennessee: 22.8 points, 4.6 assists, 49 field goal%

Guess we will see in two weeks. I am not expecting Crooks to leave ISU but who knows. I just can't see another team that's a better option than ISU offering her big $$$ and than changing their entire scheme for one year. Programs willing to do that would be lower that ISU in the polls, not teams that rank/rate higher. She just not a player you can just plug into a team as an "add".

The Big 12 was one OT away from being eliminated from the 2026 Tourny. It is playing out like most of us thought #1 SEC has the top teams, #2 Big 10 has possibly #3 the ACC has 2 mediocre teams (sorry Triad but your run ends against the Bayou Bengals in Sacramento).. and then there are the Huskies…

Not so sure about that at the moment with the Virginia victory and how ND is performing against tOSU right now.
