BIG 12 25-26

14-0!!!!!!

79-63

Before the biggest crowd of the season Molly Miller unleashes the dog's war. McKinna Brackens is still dealing with illness or injury so on a minute restriction.

No worries - both Deb Davenport and freshman Amaya Williams step up.

A GREAT way to open conference play with a W at home over the Buffs

Congrats on that great win. I've been following Molly Miller for about 7 years. When Kim Mulkey left Baylor here in Waco where I live there were hundreds of people begging the AD (Mack Rhodes) to look at her record and try to get her here. Like everything else , he ignored all advice and hired a WNBA coach with a horrible losing record. I wish I was close to Phoenix, I'd go with you to every game.

Alright, you're getting me bought in on the Molly Miller Miracle - and the results are supporting the hype. What a turnaround from last season's flaming dumpster fire.

I am so grateful going to the stadium leaving the stadium watching the games and thinking about my beloved Sun Devils.

After the game yesterday Molly Miller once again thank the fans for all the support. She really gets it she gets the whole thing coaching dealing with fans building culture.

Jeff Munn the radio voice of the Devils indicated that the crowd played a difference in bringing energy to the team.

Ikr. Hi my fingers crossed that the ad here will renegotiate and re sign Miller to a long-term extension to avoid a Kenny Dillingham situation.

Final opener in Big 12 Play takes place down in the dirty t. The kitties are going to do their best against Utah at Mckale.

I'll be watching the game as the Devil's next opponent is the Utes.

Noon tip on ESPN Plus with the kitties as decided underdogs

I am not crowing about surviving at home over a Kansas squad missing two of their top players. Audi Crooks had a million points and we win on a buzzer beater. 5 seconds left when Cyclones inbounded and Jayhawks had a foul to give and thought they would use it to take clock down to 3 seconds or so. Still, tricky to do when players will than throw the ball up from 35 feet and try to get a shooting foul when they weren't intending to shoot at all.

Now boring ten days with no games.

Maybe the largest crowd since Charlize Turner Thorne retired. It was a great win over the Buffs

That looks like so many of the crowds we used to have in Waco before Mulkey left. Heres 2 pics of the conference opener against TT. And the previous game against Southern

I was going to post how much the attendance has already improved this year. Kudos to Molly and the fan base for jumping on the band wagon. We all know the current OOC schedule had a lot to be desired but considering what she started with, this is still a great job, great hire and I only hope they can keep her.

I did an analysis on all the ages of the top coaches and I think Molly was one of 2 coaches under 40 in the P4 and one of 4 coaches under 40 who have already been to an NCAAT.

Very happy for you and I will be in Phoenix in April....😘-you know for the Final Four with my Huskies.

I completely agree with Carter's analysis

One candidate....ASU

I’m including Arizona State here because the Sun Devils are undefeated, but this feels a bit like fool’s gold. Their win over Colorado was their first victory over a team with a top-70 Her Hoop Stats rating.

With that said, 14 wins in a row is still 14 wins in a row. Molly Miller has turned this program around immediately, with the team already winning more games than it has in any season since 2019-20. But of all the contenders for this space, the Sun Devils have the lowest net rating, and the offense still has a long way to go,

Have you already purchased tickets? If so I'm wondering did you get any kind of deal?

Should be a great time in Phoenix in April. I'm still debating paying $700 for session seats.

My wife tells me I should as it's bucket list but I'm flying out to see the Huskies play Notre Dame so I'm not sure if I can justify another huge expenditure.

The Molly Miller hire was one of the best issue has made ever. I saw her reinvigorate the Grand Canyon program and knew she was a tremendous leader and builder of culture. Certainly hope the ad extends and signs her because she's it hot commodity. She has three small children and family in Phoenix which may be the deciding factor but I'd love to see them tie her up for 5 years for the kind of money the fashionista gets

Final Four's and the hoopla surrounding them are great. We have been to 3, but I shouldn't count the 2000 Philadelphia as we just bussed in and out. We were at Charlotte in the late '90's and the Cleveland 2007 where Rutgers was runner-up. The whole atmosphere is electric and it is just fun.

We are planning on passing on Phoenix baring something unexpected. We have our annual May trip east, a big vacation planned for late August (Yellowstone / Glacier / Grand Teton) and probably something else short. Will probably stay overnight in Phoenix for the Arizona WBB game and go to the Pompeii exhibit at the Science Center. So a combination of the cost and the fact that we are 2 hours from Phoenix kind of discouraged us.

Not much Big 12 action. ISU is at woeful Houston at 1 pm.

Baylor is at OSU at 2 pm That might be worth a look if Bears Scott is back. No Scott and I am not thinking that's very good game.

The Sun Devils remain undefeated at 15 and 0 and go to two and zero in conference traveling to Utah to defeat the Utes in a great win.

Coach Molly Miller schemed up and McKenna Bracken's delivered for the one point victory.

Great action in Utah as the ASU Sun Devils pick up their second conference win and remain undefeated at 15-0

Woof. Bad loss for #8 TCU at Utah. I don't think a team looking for even a piece of the conference title can afford loses like that.

#22 Baylor at #10 ISU this afternoon on ESPN. I don't think Baylor is a contender but they can play spoiler today. Not sure they have the firepower to outscore the Cyclones especially at Hilton. Think they have the personal to maybe shutdown Addy Brown but not Crooks.

56-56 at end of 3rd in Ames. Crooks with a bunch of points but Bears turning over ISU enough to stay in game.

Season stats say that ISU is a respectable 38% 3-point shooting team. Not today, though (7-26).

Wow, Littlepage-Bugg has 19 rebounds in this one. Season stats she's right at 10 per game. Needs to up her scoring just a tiny bit (9.9 ppg) to be averaging a double double.

ISU North should weigh in but a very weak showing by the Cyclones today. Fennelly seemed to disappear in this game.
Baylor never guarded Jayda Williams so she put up 28 shots; quit feeding Crooks in the 2nd half. Williams did score 28 on all those shots;
Crooks finished with 26 after having 22 at the half. Addy Brown with 2. Bill never seemed to have them try anything different.

Yeah, not a good showing. Both home games in Big 12 play have come down to the final shot. Maybe related to that diet of home games versus cupcakes in non-conference. This was only the 2nd Quad 1 game, the other being Iowa. Will be interesting to see how they do when they finally have to play a road game against a team with a pulse. They have only played woeful Drake and Houston on the road.

Baylor played percentages and made it work. Leaving Williams wide open all game was certainly a bold choice. Fennelly is a stubborn old fart and seems even more so in his final years, just never seems to respond to anything during live action or even after the half.

The coaches picks as top three teams are now all 2-1 and in the eight-way tied for 3rd place. It's obviously early but thought at least two of those teams would be 3-0, either ISU or Baylor plus TCU.

Is there another big in the conference with enough size and strength to out-muscle Audi in the paint? TCU has plenty of length, but I don’t think their bigs have the strength. Anyone else who wants to beat them will have to do what Baylor did and leave a guard uncovered in order to double down into the paint. The only other solution is to out run Iowa St, and that’s probably what TCU will do, though I don’t know who else in the conference has the speed to do this.

That is a Big 10 type of log jam. What is going on here?
