Fortunately we will find out over the next few weeks.
Well see it’s why they call it March Madness, even those Pitt teams they get eliminated committing a dumb foul on Butler who makes a run to the FF, and 2009 losing at the buzzer in the elite 8 against Nova.

In fairness St John’s did this exact thing to us lmao
I’m honestly not expecting a much different result if we get there. This is a group of dudes. Would love to see them face Houston.

At the game - Zubi is an animal, plays so hard and so disruptive around the rim. If we could get Tarris playing even 80% of how hard and active he plays, he’d be AA. When he goes to post up he scraps like a rabid dog to get position. He’s such a tone setter and the heartbeat of the teams toughness. He’s going to destroy the BE next year.

I don’t see Marquette having any chance down the stretch. You can feel StJ physicality starting to overwhelm Marquette late.
Sub ain’t dropping 32 on us

That may well be. But put black rimmed glasses on him and Shaka Smart is a dead ringer for Woody Allen.

Now you will not be able to unsee it.
You could also slap a gray women's wig on Pitino and have a revival of Murder She Wrote.

These guys are so much diffferent than those Pitt teams - this team is strong AND athletic, with tough match ups everywhere.

How deep they can go will be how they’re reffed.

If we knock down outside shots we'd have a shot, but I'm not optimistic. Making the championship this year is an accomplishment.

I want to win the game tonight but I do not want to go against St. John’s a 3rd time and end up with a result like our last game with them or Marquette’s game tonight.
Dont want an injury against those gladiators either.

They are also bigger and stronger all over the floor. They are fit. Even a kid like Smith is built like a pit bull. They’ll overwhelm teams physically. As long as they don’t let teams go up too much early they’ll be the kind of teams that will just pummel you over 40.
Smith is listed at 165 lbs. He sure doesn't look like it or play like it. If you just looked at their roster they look like a frail team. One center who is short for the position and all the other guys are under 200 lbs. They look like beasts on the court.

I'm praying for a fast start against Creighton. Tired of us falling behind and having to battle back in the 2nd half. It's become the norm, not the exception. We should press a bit early. Creighton has to be tired.

Creepy or not though Pitino has put together a great team and gotten the most out of them. His comment about Zuby going from bench at Kansas to all star in BE says a lot. Same with Luis from UMass. Not sure though how the lack of 3pt shooting will hurt them going forward

Kid probably has 1% BF and twitchy.

Wonder what Pitino’s strength routine is because they all look like gym rats. The level of fitness is a big part of their identity.

Mr Hotballs nailed it

Don’t get me going on Shaka - have been saying it all year. His system will have a limited upside fast if he doesn’t adapt. We’ll see next year because what he’s rolling has no potential of making noise.

After watching SJU Marquette now watching Florida Missouri and this SEC game is so SOFT. Playing half speed with soft defense. Not an SEC believer.

Teams are gonna have a difficult time scoring on them, rebounding against them, and keeping them out of the lane.

Both of those things might be true. Watching a lot of other conferences and the reffing is very different. SJU gets a tight whistle and they are toast. That said, same could be said about UT, Houston, ISU and a few other teams. They dare the refs to make calls with the hand checking, jersey pulling, etc. but they also body up really well and rebound the hell out of the ball. Right now I want a 1 seed UT, a 2 seed Houston and a 3 seed SJU in the same bracket. Maybe throw in Clemson and SMU. Just make it a bracket of mugging.

You are correct about them being different than Pittsburgh, but what got Pitt into trouble was the overtly physical style they played and getting called for tons of fouls they got away with in Big East. They would get frustrated, and it would affect them on the offensive end. That's something that could derail St. Johns in the Tournament, especially if Zubi gets into foul trouble. They have nothing behind him.
