2004 vs. Duke at the Alamo Dome- because it was to play for a title. Seeing us win 2 nights later was great too.

But as far as non-championship games:

I've been to mostly every home game for the last 35 years but the games(and they happened at home) that jump right out were:

I always put the next two together ..........
The Georgetown-Syracuse 1990 game(s) at the HCC were crazy loud and so significant to the program.. The HCC was shaking. We kicked down the door in the Big East and we had arrived.

The rest s History.........

Yeah Waq and C-Court have the best one's covered.............89-90 season Cuse first made us think they had a pretty good chance to be good but taking a 14-0 lead vs then to be #1 GTown in an electric Hartford Civic Center we then knew the Huskies knew JC was on to something special. That was a stretch that led us to what we have today........

While I was at the Meadowlands a few months later vs Clemson and The Shot the game itself wasn't great as the Huskies controlled throughout only to collapse but make the big play. The games mentioned above were special!!!!!

1989 NIT game vs. California at the Civic Center.

UConn was down 10 with under 3 mins to play. Calhoun calls time, and UConn comes out pressing fullcourt. To make a long story short, the Huskies make a spectacular comeback capped by Tate George making two free throws with 1 second left, UConn wins by one.

It was my first live Husky game.

How about Lou Campanelli making the mistake the following year in the NCAA tourney saying his bears have faced tougher pressure vs Oregon during the regular season than the Huskies were bringing that year??? I was at the HCC for that and his Bears looked like they NEVER saw pressure before as Nadav and crew rattled them from the tip!!!

Cal had 28 turnovers in that game, their season high. So much for Lou's assessment skills...

Incredible crowds: Michigander state, Stanford, Texas, UNC all at home. (3-1 in those games)

Great games: IU at the XL, Gonzaga in Boston, WVU at Gampel in 2000 with KEA hitting a buzzer beater, St Johns in 01, Caron hit a 3 to tie at the buzzer, won in OT; Arizona in 2000, 2009 senior day vs ND, I left that day knowing UConn was going to the final four.

Duke - NC semi, 2004
Butler - NC, 2011
GTown, SU - 1990 @ XL
GTown, BET final, 1996
SU - 6 OT BET loss

haven't been to many games, so i would say 2012 holy cross. but i'm sure posters here have been to many great uconn games over the years.

Most definitely was the 99 championship. It was like losing your virginity.

Don't remember the year but back when PC had Mike Smith and Rob Phelps and we had Donyell and Co., there was a game at Gampel that is still the loudest sporting event I attended. Pre game Brian Fair was draining thirty footers like free throws. It was so loud in there it felt like my insides were vibrating.

Maryland at the Carrier Dome. Wasn't the right final score but that was just a ridiculous game.

I was at the HCC for about 85-90% of the games in the 80's - 90's...........the Cuse game was loud in 89-90, the GTown game a few days later was simply the loudest and it wasn't close. Amazing electricity that night, unheard of in UConn lore previously.........the only one close (that I have been to in the last 13 years or more was Kansas when Rip was a frosh and they were #1)........

Yeah that Kansas game was crazy loud too. The crowd was trying so hard to will the (short handed ) team to a win.
Don't know if we will ever see the HCC(XL) get like that ever again...........

I had a lower level tix at msg for the 7ot cuse game. Could not go because new born.. probably good thing

Omar's tying 3 with 2 seconds left vs GTown last year was likely the loudest I've ever heard Gampel.

If Niels had drained his jumper after Omar's, and after stealing the inbounds play, yes, the roof would have blown clear off Gampel.

Going back a ways, but the '88 NIT semis vs BCU when DePriest locked up Dana Barros 2nd half.

Good one too at MSG in the semi's......I was also there.......I think for that run though the VCU game at the Field House was as loud as that place has ever seen. As they said the dust was coming down from the rafters and I was in the front row underneath the basket and it was nuts that night!!

Though it was a loss and I paid for it at work the next day, the 2009 6OT Big E game at MSG against Syracuse. The crowd for both teams was insane and the game was so intense. At the rate the game was going, most of the fans sitting with me figured we would have to put on a jersey by the morning. Just one of those games that deep inside I know I may never experience again in my lifetime.

And two nights later, when DePriest posterized three Ohio State players at once. MSG was up for grabs after that dunk...

UConn vs. Arizona - Gampel 2000 71-69 back of basket that had controversial goal tending call.

I worked at Gampel in operations (btw, for all of the current students, its the best job on campus) from 2000 -2002. I remember that was one of the craziest games i worked.. that and the St Johns game that year was pretty crazy

The Villanova game in 2011 at Gampel where Kemba hit that floater for the win was nuts too. Very loud.

But if Niels stole that pass and hit that 3, the town of Storrs would have exploded in fire and fine German beer.

1989-90 regular season games against Georgetown and Syracuse.
First game at Gampel against St Johns (Won on a tip in at the buzzer)
Big East Tourney final against Syracuse in 1989-90 (First BET Championship)
1999 National Championship Game (77-74)
2009 Final Four
2011 Final Four

Sorry, just too many great games....that's a s close as I can narrow it down.
