OT: Best Pizza in CT

Luna Pizza was amazing - especially when it was in the old Farmington Valley Mall... I can't even tell you how many times I went there after Whalers/Husky games with my Dad... place was unreal.

I've had roselands more times than I have fingers and toes. It's just not pepes sallys or modern.

Those are the best in the world. Just depends about the night mood and what type if pie you desire

My favorite: Farmington Ave. Pizza in West Hartford. A classic greek pie.

Greek pizza is not pizza. It is whatever the Greek word for pie is. This is just their revenge for Italians stealing their culture and their gods.

My family owns Roseland. Just doing a bit of marketing for it. lol
Nice! I love Roseland and have been going there for at least 25+ years. One of my favorite memories about the place was when I was picking a jury for a case to be tried in the Ansonia/Derby courthouse around 20 years ago. Judge asks the jury pool if anyone has a hardship that would prevent them from serving on a jury for a case that would last 2-3 weeks. Guy raises his hand and says he is the chef at Roseland. A hush comes over the courtroom and the judge looks at counsel for both sides and says, "We have to let this guy go, right?" Both of us respond immediately: "Yes, your Honor." We then turn to the chef and say "Thank you, we love your food." The courtroom broke out in mild applause as the guy walked out.

The best Greek pizza is still only a "B".

I would like to try Grimaldi's in Brooklyn and see how it stacks up against the big three in New Haven.

Has anyone had Little City Pizza in Simsbury? I've heard good things.
Just heard on WPLR this morning (my car is in the shop and rental doesn't have Sirius, which is killing me) that this place won Best Pizza in this year's Hartford Advocate poll.

Went to Grimaldi's in Fort Myers FL recently. Was an A plus by Florida standards, and probably a B plus to Pepe's of New Haven's A.

We have it so good in CT. B plus pizza in Florida is newsworthy.
C in Clearwater.

I learned that every Connecticut pizza joint does the same if you request salami on a pie. Growing up in California it was my favorite. In CT they stared at me like a had a horn growing out of my forehead.

Call Texas Steers Inc.
They remove horns.

Little City in Simsbury is quite good. Definitely top 10% in CT. Great greasy thin crust pie.

Bufalina in Guilford has the most delicious pizza. Ill take it over Modern and BAR and that's not easy for a New Haven guy to do.

My wife's:) She uses fat free cheese and makes the most delicious veggie pizza that I've ever had. Great taste without the fat/cholestrol

Yup. Bufalina gets much respect here. I place them equal with the best of New Haven and Rome. Love everything about the place...except how hard it is to get in now.

Me and the wife drove down to the City for giggles (only 40 minutes/Fairfield County) I usually grab slices almost anywhere. If there is a second to CT, NYC is it. Their pizza is a little more cheesy and doughy but outright delicious. I grew up off of NYC slices, but will say CT pizza has blown me away.

When I'm eating CT pizza the thought always enters my mind 'if I had one food to choose to eat the rest of my life. . . . . . . . . '

Biggest compliment I could give a food, but I'm no food critic.

For any students at UConn that haven't done so already... stop ordering Sgt. Pep's and switch to Randy's.

Never even heard of it so I don't think so (I was there from '08-'12).
I would be shocked if it was still there. It was mid-to-late 80s and it was terrible. As described by my housemate, "A blistering plasticy disc with acid sauce."
