Chicken parm needs to be thin/flat, lightly breaded, with a homemade gravy & fresh mozz on top IMO.

Who serves the best one in CT? Can be in grinder or traditional dish over pasta.

Fan of the grinder but still ISO of Ct’s Best.

The best Chicken Parm in the state use to be Roseland in Derby. Also the best Italian bread.
But I’m not sure if the quality is the same since Nonna past away.
My son-in-law is a real Chicken Parm guy , me not so much .
I’m more of a Chicken or Veal Francaise guy myself.
But I wouldn’t put them on a grinder.

Gravy? North Jersey?

The italian deli in newington makes a good one but i taste their seasoning all night. Thin. Crispy. Slightly over packed on a house made roll.

Provolone or mozz is the real question here.

Ohh yea. West end pizza in Bristol, back in the day, made a killer chicken parm.

Two that immediately come to mind:

Joey’s in West Hartford

Rinaldi’s in Stamford

I do love provolone on top. Actually had that included in the OP and then took it out

Although not thin/flat I like Olde World in Hamden. They oven toast the sub which is key.

So, uhh, what meats are on your italian combo?

Not a fan of breaded food or Italian food. This is not a thread for me.
What? U kidding? Who hates Italian ? U prefer rice cakes and leaves? Just messing with u but never heard someone say that before. I’m assuming yer joking

Funny story. So my wife hates red sauce and her mom used to make “Parmesan chicken” which was a chicken cutlet breaded and baked in cream of chicken soup and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. On her first weekend at college she orders chicken Parmesan and is shocked at what is brought.

For 18 years she had no idea what chicken Parmesan actually was.

What the hell do you eat? Pizza once a year, no breaded food, no Italian food...
Being of Jamaican descent, of course I like curried food. I love Indian food also. Any thing heavy in spice.

Wait, Devland is the guy who said all pizza is pretty much the same and the difference between the best and worst is very small. So I don't want to read anything he says in a food thread.
I won't eat pizza unless it is loaded with hot peppers and onions. It kind of levels the playing field.

This is a @Fishy level bad food take. Or the opposite but the same as when @JimOllie said Olive Garden has the best Italian food.

Nica's in New Haven... parm sub is best in and out of state

Perhaps a bit of a "nostalgic guy born in small town eastern CT" take but the chicken parm dinner at Gus's Pub in Plainfield astounds me to this day. It's so good and pretty huge.
