Trying to set up a family gathering and need some suggestions. It would be best if the place were centrally located.

I'm not sure there's anything sadder than a buffet.
Hmm, the Rutgers trophy case?

Whatever you do - don’t go to River in Wethersfield. The chili is good - everything else is a complete disaster.

Brunch and buffets suck, they tend to be one in the same and then it's a whole bunch of suck.

You just haven't been to the right places. Not a fan of buffets but brunch is amazing. You get everything from breakfast to lunch foods plus

Another brunch menu I enjoyScreenshot_20190505-155148_Instagram.jpg

Tell me more- called and made a reservation for mother’s day.

It’s a good location. Nice view. They have zero idea how to run a restaurant. Go in 12 months when there is new ownership.

Seriously Dakota is 500x better.

Only on the boneyard can a simple request for brunch recommendations end in people saying all buffets suck.

breakfast buffets are awesome. there just isn’t a good one in Hartford.

I went to the one at Mohegan last week. Not great either.

I would have said Adams Mill but they just closed.

Dakota is right off I-91 Exit 24. They claim to be award-winning.
Dakota is good as far as location goes and the selection is decent. Also found a place down in Seymour called something like The 1794 House. Dakota sounds better. I may still go with a traditional dinner at an Italian restaurant. I know one run by a friend and one owned by extended family. It is a college graduation celebration and I thought the kids would like a buffet.

Why specifically a buffet? Regular ol brunch spots will have much better food. Firebox has a really good brunch

You better check if they do avocado toast wherever you go then.

If I'm going out to eat the last thing I want is lukewarm food that's been sitting in a warming tray that other people have been serving themselves out of.
Yep and in the city the brunch crowd tends to be really douchey. Every Chad and Trixie goes out to get drunk off of mimosas and to photograph themselves. It's like white person hell.
