I took my son to a birthday party at the Day Hill Dome a few weeks ago and the other dads and I were like "Is that a brewery?" We didn't go over -- but next time, I absolutely would! Setting up in that spot with parents who are looking for an excuse to duck out for a few is a really smart move by Dudleytown.
You actually have a perfect view of the games from there expansive patio! There was a game going on when we were there and several parents were cheering on their kids from there.

Did a Christmas Eve stop in at one of my best friend's house.
He broke this one out.
Didn’t have a year listed anywhere on the label, but he knows it is at least 10 years old.
So smooth and drinkable. Tastes like a great holiday beer- tons of fig, raising and warming flavors.

I went to a Serbian Christmas dinner on Tuesday. The beer options were Blue Moon, Coors Light and IC Light. I chose the IC Light. I'm not gonna say it's delicious. But I will say that compared to Coors Light, Bud Light and especially Mich Ultra, it does taste better.

I've had some great local stouts and porters lately, but too busy doing other things to take photos. I'll have to fix that.

Wow. Would love to do a side by side of this one and Fox Farm’s new rotbier collab with Buttonwoods.
I saw the FF email where they offered a rotbier. Before tonight, I didn't know what it was. Then, walked into Caius and saw it there and thought, 'What the heck?' It was so good. Smooth, sweet and delish.

Caius sounds like the class of CT. Are they approaching Vitamin Sea/Treehouse level?

With all due respect, VS is a solid brewery but not even close to Treehouse’s level of consistency and skill across beer styles. Fox Farm is at a level that all CT breweries aspire to reach.

I apparently need to go there. Now.

For my money, Fox Farm and Kent Falls are the class of CT, along with the CT "grown" ones at 12 percent in North Haven.

Counterweight is right up there with the best in CT. To me it's Fox Farm and CW 1a and 1b.

An old 120 tends to essentially become an American Barleywine. Definitely an interesting beer. The booze allows that longevity. I've had a few old ones at beer festivals.

North Coast Old Stock is another beer that holds up over time.

Had a friend host a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout tasting today.

We had the yearly brews from 2020-2024 and several of their annual special releases.

Not a bad beer in the group. They are worth the $20+ price tag and grabbing them each year on Black Friday when they are released is worth the calendar notification.

Epic. I did a of the regular one a few years back. Consensus was freshest best, then oldest. With the adjunct versions freshness matter more.

We went
2024
2020
2022
2021
2023

And then went to the annual specialties.

Consensus was 2020 was the best. The 2024 Vanilla Rye was very good. I though the 2024 Macaroon was meh.
We had a 2022 or 2023 Proptietor's which is so good it's basically a different level.
