I'm sure there are many things we don't know but it always seemed to me UConn didn't do right by the guy.

I'm pretty sure that this led to the police briefly bringing him in and the school suspending and later dismissing him.

Yeah, we remember the same event, but have a different recollection of the tone. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part.
 
Sounds like Alabama's NCAA Tournament seeding won't be impacted for using Bediako. So lame.

And what about the losses other teams who played Alabama took with Bediako? Alabama beat Texas A&M 100-97. How do they rectify that?

Why you shouldn't expect the NCAA Tournament selection committee to punish Alabama for playing Charles Bediako

Bediako played five games for the Crimson Tide before being ruled ineligible. What impact will that unusual midseason stint have on Alabama's NCAA Tournament resume and the rest of the SEC?

Cry me a river Bucky. He played 19 minutes snd had 5 points. It wasn’t like he was Michael Jordan in his prime. This is no different than playing a team with a backup vs. playing them when he is injured.

Well in fairness in a close game it's very hard to quantify what exactly Bediako's effect on the outcome of the game was. The bottom line is he was ineligible and should not have been playing.

No, he was declared eligible by a judge initially for a specific period. Once that period expired and the order was not extended he became ineligible. I didn’t follow where this is all going but there was a trial date set gor late February. If that were to proceed and Bediako were to win, he would again be eligible. What if Alabama missed the NCAA tournament because they had to play without him when he should have been eligible? My view would be tough luck Bama. Would Bucky’s be “they was robbed?”

Can a judge actually rule on NCAA eligibility? I'm not sure that the answer is yes. What the judge said is that the NCAA couldn't penalize Alabama. Making them in eligible for the tournament would be a penalty, but is not counting the games that they played in in eligible player a penalty? What happens if they do just that in based upon the games that Alabama played without an in eligible player they don't make the tournament? Is a court going to mandate that a certain team make the NCAA tournament? I can't see that happening.
 
I would at not but I suppose it would only matter if Alsbama was a bubble team, no? Otherwise it is basically a push. They went 3-2. It’s not like they went on an 5 game winning streak with him. Even if they didn’t count those games, it’s likely they look at their overall record, winning percentage NET etc based on the games they counted. But why take the chance that Alabama goes to court and muck up all the selections? Even the tournament dates?

I’m still curious why it makes a difference that he earned money plsying a few NBA games but BYU can have a guy who did the same thing and got payed playing G and European games but it’s fine? And they are both getting paid to play college basketball anyway.

If they grant him another TRO he may be able to finish the season before the judge comes to an official decision on the case. So lame.

What is he trying to achieve with this whole fiasco? Maximize NIL money because he thinks that’s the highest payday he can get?

He was already in the G League. I can’t imagine that coming back to college to be a role player gives him a better chance to make the NBA than just popping off in the G League. Especially with all the negative press this mess has given him

What’s the play here?

Why would they do that though? The only reason he got initial permission was an in-the-tank judge.
