Bruce Pearl says Alabama not being allowed in the NCAA Tournament should be on the table.

Dakich asked Pearl what he thought about the idea of Alabama being banned from the NCAA Tournament because of the ongoing Bediako situation. Pearl offered that he thinks it should be considered by the NCAA.

“I think they should consider it. I think it’s just something that should be talked about,” Pearl said.

The NCAA needs to hammer away at this constantly. College isn't for professionals and people who aren't college age. Foreign professionals shouldn't be allowed to play and Bediako, Oats and everyone else involved in trying to get G-League/NBA players into college need to be shamed constantly.

The NCAA should impose some kind of penalty on Alabama just for attempting to pull this crap. I always thought highly of Nate Oates, but he dropped a few pegs in my eyes solely because of this. They should hit them with a fine or a postseason ban just to send a strong message

And before people say the courts gave Alabama the ability to play him, Oats didn't have to play him after the judge originally allowed him to play since that ruling was being appealed. Remember Calhoun holding Boatright out until it was clear he was eligible after some B.S. about him accepting something? Think he did the same with Caron.

Easy, the selection committee should devalue their wins over Mizzou TAMU and Auburn. If 16-7 turns into 13-7, what are they, 7 or 8 seed?

I can appreciate Oats trying to win at all costs, but to play Bediako while the court case was active was irresponsible

You know what, though? Once you open the “pay the players” box, this was a perfectly logical result. What’s the difference whether a guy was paid to play for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Austin Spurs, the Bratislava Bulldogs or the University of Alabama? Seems like a distinction where there are no differences. You got paid to play basketball. If you are a regular student and you get a job at Google, it doesn’t prevent you from going back to school in computer science. And the pay the players folks were all about treating athletes like regular students. I think the only way around the problem is going back to the student athlete requirements. You need to be a full time student making legitimate progress toward your degree.
